The Marketing Science team at Flipp works cross-functionally with clients, analysts, and external partnerships to executive campaigns at the highest level of effectiveness. The Marketing Science Lead acts as a thought leader for Flipp’s business development and product teams, in support of Retail, Brand, and Media partners. You will strategically plan testing & measurement delivery, deliver actionable recommendations, and navigate ambiguity to select the best fit approach(es) to achieve internal and external stakeholder objectives. You possess deep technical skill, have a strong working knowledge of Flipp's data assets and tools to extract value from them, and drive better decision making internally and with external d2d contacts.
What you'll get the opportunity to do:
- Plan & Design
- Prescribes best-fit approach based on Flipp testing & measurement best practices
- Designs strong testing & measurement plan to deliver upon business objectives
- Seamless e2e delivery of testing & measurement process
- Autonomously manages assigned tickets in JIRA workflow
- Contributes to development & delivery of strategic analytics roadmap for assigned portfolio
- Data Preparation & Modeling
- Mastery in data extraction, manipulation and aggregation
- Effectively navigate enterprise level systems & large datasets
- Deep expertise with Flipp's data models, limitations & relevant applications
- Actively identify process improvements / automation opportunities to improve efficiency in data models & extraction
- Develop MVP solutions that drive material efficiency improvements
- Analysis & Measurement
- Mastery in foundational statistical concepts
- Deep expertise in digital marketing attribution and incrementality measurement
- SME in Flipp testing & measurement playbooks
- Actively improvises creatively w/data off script & identifies candidates for additional playbook development
- Generates case studies / white paper content
- Generating & Delivering Insights
- Consistently drives meaningful action by extracting ""So What"" & ""Now What"" in d2d analysis
- Oversees development of compelling, insightful and tailored analysis and measurement approaches to answer ambiguous business challenges
- Ensures data & insights consistently apply best practice data visualization
- Exceptional data storyteller to wide array of audiences, both internal and external decision makers
- Innovation & Growth
- Actively refines skills & knowledge both technically and in digital marketing & measurement
- Establishes Flipp as a thought leader with external retailers & brands on digital media and analytics
- Actively research, socialize & implement industry best practices at Flipp
- Builds and improves team knowledge base, regularly documenting & sharing best practices, frameworks and case studies
What you'll bring to the team:
- Post secondary degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics/Math/Finance/Economics/Business Engineering or similar field
- Certifications in data analysis & digital marketing an asset
- 5+ years experience as a data analyst delivering sustained business impact
- Expertise in data extraction and analysis - SQL, Python, Scala, R
- Hands-on experience developing dashboards w/industry leading BI tools - tableau, PowerBI, Thoughtspot, Looker
- Strong understanding cloud data platforms - AWS, Azure, GCP
- Experience working with databricks an asset
- Strong understanding of Retail, CPG, digital measurement & consumer insights
- Self-starter, highly effective working independently and within a team
