This role is intentionally platform-flexible: candidates may lean toward front-end, back-end, or full-stack work, with the specific focus determined collaboratively during the interview process based on the candidate's strongest expertise and the team's current needs. The Senior Software Engineer sets engineering standards, mentors developers, partners cross-functionally to ensure scalable and resilient architectures, and owns service or application health for key domain components. Break down large, ambiguous problems into deliverable increments and sequence them with product partners. Set and enforce engineering standards for code quality, testing, security, observability, and operational readiness across the stack. Own performance and scalability across your area — profiling, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing under production load (for example, high-frequency, real-time data streaming in trading features). Mentor and coach intermediate and junior developers, delivering constructive code reviews and guiding technical growth regardless of specialization. Partner with Product, UX, Enterprise Architecture, and Security to ensure scalable, resilient, and compliant designs across platforms. Lead incident response for significant outages in your area of ownership, driving blameless post-incident reviews to closure with structural fixes. Own health for key domain components — performance, reliability, and technical debt — on the front end, back end, or both. Champion the exploration and adoption of AI tools to improve developer productivity and platform features. Contribute to technical hiring by conducting technical assessments and candidate interviews, including helping calibrate a candidate's front-end/back-end fit. So are YOU our next Senior Software Engineer ? You are if you… Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 6+ years of experience building, shipping, and operating production software at scale. Back-end track: Deep expertise in Node.js/TypeScript; proven experience designing distributed systems, APIs, and data models under production load.
