What’s in it for you as an employee of QFG? Health & wellbeing resources and programs Paid vacation, personal, and sick days for work-life balance Competitive compensation and benefits packages Work-life balance in a hybrid environment with at least 3 days in office Career growth and development opportunities Opportunities to contribute to community causes Work with diverse team members in an inclusive and collaborative environment We’re looking for our next Senior Software Engineer. Could It Be You?You will build the mobile experiences Canadians use to manage their money. React Native, end to end: you shape the approach, you write the code, you ship it, and you own how it behaves in production.Day to day you will work in TypeScript, mostly React Native, with the web for the flows that span both. You will take a product problem from a rough requirement to a shipped, instrumented app experience, working alongside the engineers, designers, and product lead on your team, in person in North York three days a week.Claude is our standard AI tooling and a core part of how we work, not an optional extra. If AI is not already in your daily workflow, this will not be a fit. Need more details? Keep reading… Own mobile features end to end: requirement, technical approach, implementation, tests, release, and how they behave in production Be the mobile reference point on your team: the person others check with on approach, and the one who brings the rest of the team along so mobile is not blocked when you are away Build in TypeScript, mostly React Native, plus the web flows that reach across both, holding a high bar on state management, list and navigation performance, and accessibility Drive the contract for the BFF behind your screens. You may build it yourself, or partner with a back-end engineer who does, but the shape of it is your call and "the service made me do it" is not an answer here Use Claude daily to accelerate coding, design thinking, reviews, and documentation, always looking for ways to go faster without cutting corners Own your work in production: instrument it, watch it, debug it, fix it. So are YOU our next Senior Software Engineer? You are if you have… Real React Native depth, backed by apps you have shipped to the App Store and Play Store and then operated 6+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping and operating production applications Strong TypeScript, with solid web front-end experience in React or Angular, or a documented history of picking up frameworks fast Depth in the fundamentals: render behaviour, state and data-fetching strategy, list and navigation performance on low-end Android, native module boundaries, app size and startup time, offline and flaky-network behaviour, accessibility Comfortable owning a technical area without a specialist peer beside you, and the judgment to know when to pull in help from outside the team An established daily AI habit. Claude is what we use here; if you have been working in Cursor, Copilot, or Gemini, the habit transfers A testing habit you can defend: what you unit test, what you cover at the component level, and what only an end-to-end test will catch Strong judgment about the API your screens depend on: what shape the client actually needs, auth and token handling, caching, pagination, error semantics, and where the line sits between the service and the app Comfortable building against asynchronous, eventually consistent services: optimistic updates, retries and idempotency, out-of-order or delayed state, and a UI that stays honest when the backend has not caught up yet Comfortable working on-site in North York three days a week. Additional kudos if you have… Native module work, store release management, or over-the-air update strategy Mobile observability in production: crash reporting, per-OS-version triage, performance monitoring Node experience, enough to build or shape the BFF behind your screens Real-time technologies like WebSockets, gRPC, or Firebase Regulated or financial services experience, where the flow has to be auditable and not just usable. Compensation Information: Base salary range: $110,000 - $150,000 The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles. Sounds like you? Click below to apply! #LI-Hybrid #LI-CE1 #LI-CE1 #LI-Hybrid
