We’re looking for our next Senior Systems Engineer. Could It Be You?

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the effective design, provisioning, configuration and operation of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure in heterogeneous environments (Linux and Windows systems).​

The individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, network and applications are aligned to corporate policies, procedures and best practices with a strong focus on documentation and high availability.​

They vet/lead technical research and development to enable continuing innovation of the on-premise and cloud infrastructure. They also have a key participation in developing others into their area of expertise (knowledge transfer)

They'll provide high impact, large scale, overarching oversight and technical input for senior leadership for appropriate progress of the whole enterprise. Principals are expected to contribute to a larger number of teams, inside and outside our group as trusted advisors.​

  • Define best practices and provide expert guidance for Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Windows (2016+) server systems using tools like Satellite and SCCM, Ansible, Saltstack, terraform and other automation tools

  • Provide technical support to complex infrastructure including our Cloud Footprint in GCP and AWS.

  • Define best practices and provide expert guidance Active Directory, IIS, DNS, DHCP, GPO,PKI infrastructure, replication, Clustering and other Windows Technologies

  • Lead project and provide guidance for process documentation

  • Provide technical guidance to other teams into architecture and implementation for tech-agnostic in order to achieve the best solution in a timely manner.

  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule which includes performing server maintenance/updates and providing technical support after hours.

So are YOU our next Senior Systems Engineer? You are if you…

  • 5+ years experience in a large-scale (2000+ VMs) environment with exposure to Linux, Windows and VMWare ESXi 7+.

  • Hands-on (production) experience in any Cloud provider (Google required).

  • Excellent knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS, DHCP, PKI Infrastructure and Group Policy management.

  • Solid networking knowledge (OSI Layers, well-known protocols)

  • Strong documentation and presentation skills.

  • Eager to learn and train and develop others

  • Strong attention to detail, comprehensive problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Creating new procedures and policies do help further enterprise maturity.

  • Ability to work independently or under minimum supervision

  • Disaster Recovery/High Availability experience is required.

  • Experience in regulated environments is an asset (SOC, ISO27001, NIT, PCI) including escalations, change and incident management.

  • Experience presenting and influencing technology strategy with executives through developers

  • GCP experience is required.

  • AWS and Azure Experience is an asset.

  • Expertise with managing GCP using IaaC technologies like Terraform.

Additional Information…

  • This role requires three days of in-office presence per week for Greater Toronto Area (GTA) residents. For candidates residing outside the GTA, a remote workplace arrangement is available.

Compensation Information:

  • Base salary range: $115,000-135,000

  • The final package will be commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada).

  • Includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program.
