We’re looking for our next Senior Product Designer - Crypto. Could It Be You?

The Growth Portfolio team is Questrade’s innovation engine. We are responsible for defining the future of investing by democratizing access to asset classes traditionally reserved for institutional investors or the ultra-wealthy.

We are looking for a pioneering Senior Product Designer to own the end-to-end user experience for our most ambitious new ventures, including cryptocurrency trading and our private markets platform (private equity, private debt, and pre-IPO secondaries).

This role is for a designer who is fascinated by the future of finance and is passionate about making complex, high-stakes systems feel simple, safe, and empowering. You won't just be designing interfaces; you'll be defining how a new generation of ambitious investors interacts with emerging and exclusive asset classes. By integrating AI into your creative process to accelerate discovery and push the boundaries of what’s possible, you will solve unique challenges: How do we build unshakable trust in crypto? How do we make a private equity offering as accessible as buying an ETF? Your work will set the standard for a new era of investing in Canada.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Drive Innovation & User Growth

• Own the end-to-end design process for new growth initiatives, from initial discovery and concepting to launch and optimization.

• Design and test flows that reduce friction and increase activation, ensuring users feel confident executing their first crypto or private market transaction.

• Partner with product managers and data analysts to identify high-impact opportunities, using user behavior insights to inform design strategy.

• Transform complex financial concepts into intuitive experiences that drive adoption and long-term engagement within the Questrade ecosystem.

Deliver Design Excellence in High-Stakes Domains

• Champion Trust and Clarity by creating transparent, high-integrity experiences that demystify complex assets.

• Conduct and synthesize user research to validate design directions and uncover mental models around emerging asset classes.

• Create high-fidelity prototypes and data-rich visualizations that help users understand their portfolios and make informed, real-time decisions.

• Ensure all work maintains the highest standards of craft, usability, and accessibility (AODA/WCAG).

Enable Cross-Functional Success

• Collaborate with engineering, legal, and compliance teams to navigate the regulatory complexities of crypto and private markets without sacrificing user experience.

• Work with Marketing and Content teams to ensure a consistent, compelling narrative across the entire customer lifecycle.

• Articulate design rationale to stakeholders, framing decisions through the lens of user needs and business impact.

Key Competencies

Technical Skills

• Expert proficiency in Figma and modern prototyping tools.

• Proven ability to leverage Generative AI tools (Cursor, Figma Make, image generation, etc.) to accelerate research, content strategy, and rapid UI exploration.

• A strong portfolio demonstrating an ability to simplify complex, data-heavy workflows and high-frequency trading environments.

• Deep experience in user research methodologies and translating findings into actionable design improvements.

• Strong visual design skills with a focus on information density and legibility.

Mindset & Collaboration

• You are genuinely fascinated by the future of finance and technology. You are likely the person your friends ask to explain blockchain, staking, or the latest AI design tools.

• You thrive in the ambiguity of a growth environment. You know when to push for a "10x" experience and when to ship an MVP to start learning.

• 5+ years of product design (UX/UI) experience, with a track record of shipping successful digital products.

• Proven experience in a complex domain (fintech, crypto, data analytics, or similar).

• Portfolio requirement: At least one case study showcasing how you solved a complex, multi-layered design problem from research through to execution.

Additional kudos if you…

• Direct experience designing trading platforms, crypto wallets, or investment products.

• A personal passion for investing and emerging financial technologies.

• Experience working within a high-velocity growth squad.

Compensation Information:

• Base salary range: $110,000 - $140,000

• The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
