We’re looking for our next Social Media Strategist. Could It Be You?
The organic Social Media Strategist is the creative engine behind our organic presence. The mission is to redefine the personality of Canadian fintech. They will position Questrade as the most magnetic brand in the space, producing content that feels less like an advertisement and more like a conversation people actually want to join.
This role is not just posting; they are building a fin-tech brand. This role lives at the intersection of market trends and pop culture, turning complex financial concepts into thumb-stopping reels, stories, and threads. In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead the social vision and strategy identifying and prioritizing opportunities that serve both the company needs and the wants/needs of our communities. You will conceptualize and edit high-quality organic content (Reels, TikToks, Stories, and carousels) that captures each brand’s unique personality.
- Own the master organic social calendar across all businesses. You’ll ensure a consistent, high-impact posting cadence that balances always-on brand storytelling with rapid-response trend content.
- Stay glued to social trends, memes, and market news. You’ll pivot quickly to create of-the-moment content that keeps our brand relevant and part of the daily conversation.
- Beyond just posting, you’ll be in the comments, using wit, humour, and brand personality to engage with our promoters, and influencers
- Work across our portfolio of businesses to tell their unique stories. You’ll find the "human" angle in everything we do, from employee spotlights to customer success stories.
- Optimize content strategy for each platform’s algorithm. You know exactly what works on a LinkedIn post vs. what will fly on a TikTok FYP.
- Partner with the Product Design and Product Marketing teams to ensure all organic content is visually stunning and on-brand, while maintaining that authentic feel that organic social requires.
- Act as the creative bridge to the Product and Product Marketing teams. You’ll stay synced in the product roadmap to ensure our organic content amplifies major launches, feature updates, and seasonal campaigns in a way that feels authentic, not "salesy”.

- Have 5+ years of Social Media experience with a portfolio of Reels, TikToks, or campaigns that prove you know how to grab attention.
- Are highly skilled in editing tools such as CapCut, Canva, and native platform editing tools.
- Have strong ability to stay up to date on what’s trending on socials, why that specific audio is blowing up on IG, and how to translate it for a Canadian audience.
- Have a witty & articulate communication style to write captions that are funny, sharp, and brand-safe all at once.
- Have proven understanding that content still needs to drive business value and align with our broader marketing goals.
Compensation Information:
- Base salary range: $95,000 - $115,000
- The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
