We’re looking for our next Senior Instructional Designer. Could It Be You?

Reporting to the Training & Development Supervisor within Client Enablement, the Instructional Designer is responsible for the design and development of tactical learning solutions that support the Client Services team. The role focuses on creating high-quality, agent-facing modules for new product launches, promotions, and service updates. By applying established instructional design techniques and multimedia tools, the ID ensures effective knowledge transfer and technical accuracy to drive departmental performance and a consistent customer experience.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Designs and develops solutions that help advance human performance and drive business impact with a customer focus mindset to ensure linkages to customer experience

  • Conducts design analysis, scopes project objectives and analyzes target audience expectations

  • Defines learning objectives, describes tasks and activities, estimates the resource requirements, and creates detailed design structure

  • Writes, storyboards, and edits learning and performance support interventions

  • Ensures learning solutions are instructionally sound, and developed on time, within scope and budget

  • Stays up to date with industry trends, actively monitoring new technologies (like AI, Learning Management Systems), emerging design trends, and adult learning research to keep skills current and relevant

  • Identifies learning gaps and recommends tactical solutions to address them

  • Acts as the technical point of contact for vendors during asset production

  • May network with industry contacts to gather and identify competitive insights and best practices

  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders

  • Participates and acts on multiple internal projects varying in size and complexity

  • Focus is primarily on business/group within organization; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus

  • Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support

  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given guidelines

  • Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations

  • Collaborates with SMEs to ensure technical accuracy and instructional integrity

  • Supports with facilitating trainings

  • Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision making

  • Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ensures alignment between stakeholders

  • Develops effective project plans to facilitate the building of learning programs and curriculum to close gaps identified

  • Reviews the program for effectiveness, considers industry trends and recommends enhancements; makes changes as required

So are YOU our next Senior Instructional Designer? You are if you…

  • Have 3+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Have knowledge of accessibility principles/practices and the implications for design and development

  • Have proficiency in applying standard ID methodologies and emerging design tools

  • Have experience in the design and development of training for multiple delivery methods

  • Have knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience

  • Have experience with authoring tools (Articulate 360, Camtasia, Vimeo, Adobe Acrobat, Snagit)

  • Have strong verbal & written communication skills

  • Have strong collaboration & teamworking skills

  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Are skilled at data-driven decision making

  • Have project management experience

Additional kudos if you…

  • Have experience with graphic design and video editing/creation

  • Have experience working in the financial industry

Compensation Information:

  • Base salary range: $64,000 - $74,000

  • The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
