We’re looking for our next Manager, Product – Secured Lending. Could It Be You?

Questbank is growing, and we are looking for a hands-on Manager to drive the commercial success of our Secured Lending portfolio.

We distinguish between "building the product" (operations/tech) and "making the product successful" (commercialization). You are the business lead. You own the "Value Proposition"—defining not just the price, but the reason a broker chooses Questbank over a competitor.

In this role, you will be the analytical engine behind our product strategy. You will act as the strategic business partner to our Product Managers, pulling the pricing and promotion levers needed to help them achieve their P&L targets. You will work side-by-side with Finance and Sales to ensure our products are competitive, profitable, and positioned to win.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities

1. Pricing Strategy & Value Proposition

  • Value Prop Ownership: Define and articulate the commercial value proposition for our Alt-A and future lending products. You determine how we package rate, fee, and policy to create a compelling offer for the broker.

  • Manage Rate Sheets: Own the daily/weekly execution of product updates. You ensure that our products and pricing signals the right value to the market across all distribution points.

  • Competitor Intelligence: Track competitor rates and "promo" offers daily. You identify where our value prop is eroding due to market moves and recommend tactical adjustments to regain our edge.

2. Business Analysis & Forecasting

  • Business Inputs: Act as the advisor to the Finance team. You provide the critical market inputs—competitor moves, broker feedback, and sensitivity analysis—that allow Finance to update pricing models. You recommend where we should price to win, while Finance validates the economics.

  • Forecasting Collaboration: Partner directly with the Finance Business Partner (FBP) to build monthly volume forecasts. You provide the data-driven market assumptions (seasonality, pipeline trends) that power the budget.

  • Business Analysis: Monitor volume trends and product mix. Instead of just reporting numbers, you explain the "why" behind the performance—linking volume results back to our pricing and value proposition.

3. Product Partnership & Growth

  • Product Manager Collaboration: collaborate with the Product Managers (who own the product roadmap and P&L targets) to design pricing structures that support their strategy. You turn their financial goals into executable market rates.

  • Sales Enablement: Empower the BDM team to sell "Value over Rate." You equip them with the talking points, competitive comparisons, and "cheat sheets" they need to explain why a broker should choose Questbank, even if we aren't the cheapest option.

  • Campaign Management: Collaborate with Sales to design tactical promotions (e.g., points buydowns). You determine the ROI of the campaign and ensure it aligns with our broader value strategy.

  • New Product Commercialization: Support the Director in the launch of new verticals. While others focus on the operational build, you focus on the Go-to-Market strategy: defining the buy box, the pricing structure, and the launch story.

So are YOU our next Manager, Product – Secured Lending? You are if you…

Qualifications (The "Must-Haves")

  • Experience: 6+ years in financial services, with specific experience in mortgage lending.

  • Broker Channel Knowledge: You understand how the broker market works. You know that "Value" to a broker is a mix of Rate, Commission, and Ease of Use.

  • Analytical Skills: Advanced Excel skills are non-negotiable. You can manipulate large data sets to find answers.

  • Commercial Acumen: You understand the basics of lending economics—rates, volume vs. margin trade-offs, and competitive positioning.

Additional kudos if you…

Assets (The "Nice-to-Haves")

  • Multi-Asset Class Experience: Exposure to lending products beyond standard residential mortgages (e.g., Commercial, Multi-Family, or Construction lending).

  • Product Launch Experience: Participation in the launch of a new product line or the entry into a new market segment.

  • Treasury Exposure: Understanding of how banks fund mortgages (securitization vs. deposits) and how transfer pricing works.

  • SQL/Data Visualization: Experience using tools like SQL, Tableau, or PowerBI to visualize portfolio performance.

Additional Information…

  • This role requires three days of in-office presence per week for Greater Toronto Area (GTA) residents. For candidates residing outside the GTA, a remote workplace arrangement is available.

Compensation Information:

  • Base salary range: $120,000 - $150,000

  • The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
