We’re looking for our next Risk & Credit Analyst. Could It Be You?

The purpose of the Risk & Credit Analyst is to ensure Questrade’s Risk and Operations functions are completed to facilitate regular and extended trading hours (4am-8pm EST).

The Risk & Credit Analyst monitors and analyzes Questrade’s exposure to market conditions in real time by reviewing trading activity and assigning follow up with clients when necessary. They perform various tasks to ensure client positions are accurate and within defined risk parameters. They take preventive action in order to ensure clients do not take outsized speculative positions and ensure client account equity does not fall into a negative balance.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Concentration monitoring
  • Issue margin calls and give instruction to Trade Desk to cover accounts in margin calls
  • Proprietary trader position management and exposure monitoring
  • Validate option assignments and exercises
  • Notify clients of margin calls, low equity, RRSP negative balances
  • Update and assess canceled and busted trades
  • Assessing USD vs. CAD balances risk
  • Evaluating complex option strategies and provide instruction to Trade Desk to liquidate option positions that pose exercise/assignment risk
  • Report on deficient accounts and work with the legal team to recover balances
  • Ad-Hoc reporting or project work

So are YOU our next Risk & Credit Analyst? You are if you…

  • Have a post secondary degree/diploma in related or quantitative field
  • Have 1 + years of financial industry experience
  • Have 1 + years of experience in Risk
  • Have a strong interest in and knowledge of the financial industry
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and ability to articulate complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Have excellent MS Excel skills and G-suite, Python, SQL, PowerBI experience is preferred
  • Are working towards CFA/FRM designation (preferred)

Additional kudos if you…

  • Have completed a CSI course (CSC, DFC, OLC)

Additional Information…

  • Please note: This role will be required to be in office 3 days a week and you may be required to work at 7:30 am or until 8:00 pm EST, depending on coverage needs.
