We’re looking for our next Systems Engineer. Could It Be You?

This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in systems administration and process automation to build the next generation of digital mortgage products. You will be instrumental in designing, connecting, and optimizing the technology systems that powers our mortgage business and enhances the client journey.

As a Systems Engineer, you will be the technical owner of our core business systems, with a primary focus on Salesforce. Your mission is to ensure seamless integration, optimal performance, and continuous improvement across our entire technology ecosystem. This includes our CRM, telephony system, marketing automation platform, point of sale software, loan origination software, and automation tools like Zapier and N8N. You will be responsible for managing these platforms, developing robust integrations, and building automated workflows that enhance efficiency and elevate the customer experience for Questrade's digital mortgage business.

  • System Architecture & Strategy: Design, configure, and develop solutions within our core platforms, primarily Salesforce, to support critical business functions and meet strategic goals.

  • Integration Management: Build and maintain reliable integrations between Salesforce and other key business systems using APIs, middleware, and platforms like Zapier.

  • Process Automation: Identify opportunities for automation and implement workflows that streamline business processes, reduce manual effort, and improve data accuracy across departments.

  • Platform Administration: Provide system administration for our suite of business applications, managing user permissions, security settings, custom configurations, and data integrity.

  • Collaboration & Support: Collaborate with internal departments, including Marketing, Sales, and Operations, to ensure our technology stack supports their needs and drives performance. Provide expert-level support and training to users, troubleshooting issues across all managed systems.

  • Data Management: Oversee data flows between systems, managing data imports, cleansing activities, and transformation to ensure consistency and reliability.

  • Quality & Performance: Monitor and optimize the performance of all managed systems and integrations, working with QA teams to ensure reliability and resolve defects.

  • Strong understanding of CRM concepts and business processes (e.g., sales, marketing, customer service).

  • Solution-focused mindset with the initiative to work effectively and solve problems independently.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work.

  • A self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical role such as software development, systems administration, or solutions engineering, with at least 1 year of hands-on Salesforce development or administration experience.

  • Hands-on experience managing and integrating any of the following platform types:

  • Telephony/Dialer

  • Marketing Automation

  • Workflow Automation

  • Proven experience integrating disparate business systems using RESTful APIs, webhooks, and/or integration platforms (e.g., Zapier, MuleSoft, Workato, PowerAutomate).

  • Deep experience with the Salesforce platform (Service Cloud, Sales Cloud) including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and declarative automation tools.

  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, version control (e.g., Git), and CI/CD practices.

  • Experience with development tools like VSCode and version control platforms like GitLab or GitHub.

  • A passion for learning new technologies and a desire to continuously expand your technical skill set.
