We’re looking for our next Strategic Initiatives Lead, Mortgage . Could It Be You?

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Strategic Initiatives Lead to join our foundational team. In this role, you will be instrumental in launching and scaling our brand-new digital mortgage brokerage. More than a project manager, you will act as a strategic partner to the leadership team, responsible for translating the vision into an executable reality. You will take ownership of defining, planning, and executing our most critical strategic initiatives, from establishing our operational frameworks to managing project budgets and timelines.

This is a hands-on role that requires you to build our project management and business intelligence capabilities from scratch, including creating and managing our core KPI dashboards. You will lead cross-functional projects, design scalable business processes, and serve as the critical link between our business and technical teams. This is a unique opportunity for a data-driven leader who thrives in a startup environment and is passionate about building a business from the ground up.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Program Leadership: Own and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of our most critical strategic programs, including the launch of the digital mortgage brokerage and prime lender.

• Strategic Planning & Goal Setting: Partner with the leadership team to define company-wide goals, objectives (OKRs), and project deliverables, ensuring tight alignment across the business.

• Execution & Financial Management: Develop and manage comprehensive program plans, including timelines, milestones, risk management strategies, and the operational and project budgets.

• Cross-Functional Alignment: Drive execution by acting as the central hub for cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless collaboration between technology, product, marketing, sales, and compliance.

• Business Intelligence & Performance Tracking: Design, build, and maintain our core business dashboards, providing the leadership team with real-time visibility into KPIs and project performance.

• Process Architecture: Design, document, and implement the scalable business processes and workflows required for our core operations, from lead management to funding.

• Continuous Improvement: Conduct post-project reviews to identify successes and challenges, driving a culture of continuous improvement, efficiency, and accountability.

• Change Management: Act as a key change agent, helping to foster a culture of innovation and data-driven decision-making within the new business unit.

• Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Data Management or similar, MBA preferred.

• 5+ years of experience in a relevant field such as management consulting, business operations, corporate strategy, or program management.

• Hands-on expertise building complex dashboards and reports in Power BI, Tableau or similar.

Additional kudos if you…

• Experience in the Canadian mortgage or lending industry.

• Experience working in a startup or intrapreneurial environment.

• Formal project management certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile/Scrum).

• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their business applications.

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
