As a Full Stack Engineer specializing in Digital Mortgages at Questrade, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our digital mortgage offerings. You'll be instrumental in building a direct-to-consumer mortgage product, leveraging AI for the fastest mortgage experience, and establishing the core infrastructure for our new digital mortgage business.

• Platform Development: Architect, design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure full-stack applications for Questrade's mortgage business, leveraging modern architectural patterns, micro frontend approaches, and best-in-class technologies.
• Infrastructure Expansion: Drive the expansion of prime mortgage lending, ensuring seamless integration, high performance, and future scalability.
• New Product Launches: Lead the development and launch of new prime mortgage capabilities for Questrade clients, from ideation to deployment, with an emphasis on speed-to-market and quality.
• Growth Portfolio Innovation: Contribute to the architecture, build, and delivery of other new alternative trading products within the dedicated Growth Portfolio entity, actively identifying and adopting emerging technologies.
• API Design & Integration: Create, document, and integrate with clear, efficient, and secure APIs (including RESTful and WebSocket APIs) to facilitate all aspects of mortgage transactions, setting standards for integration and developer experience.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Coach and mentor junior and intermediate team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and adoption of innovative development practices within the software development team.
• Operational Support: Provide expert support for all prime mortgage solutions, ensuring system stability and reliability through proactive monitoring and incident resolution.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on building scalable and resilient systems and user interfaces.
• Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, VUE, React Native).
• Proficiency in one or more modern backend programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, Go, Python, Node.js), with a preference for Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and building highly interactive and responsive web and mobile applications.
• Experience designing and building RESTful and WebSocket APIs.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and SOLID principles.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, and optimizing applications for large datasets.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and message queues (e.g., PubSub, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Experience with state management libraries and patterns.
• Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks and practices (e.g., Jest, Mira, Cypress).
• Proven ability to design and architect complex, high-availability systems with a focus on performance, security, and maintainability.
