We’re looking for our next Senior Specialist, CMS. Could It Be You?

The Senior Specialist, CMS is a highly analytical and design-oriented role focused on driving business growth. This is achieved through efficient content management and optimized page builds. The ideal candidate is a data-driven professional with a deep understanding of building pages within CMS platforms, such as Contentful. They will implement best practices in information architecture, improve conversion rates from organic page content, and ensure web pages are optimized for both users and search engines. This role requires exceptional cross-functional collaboration with technical, design, content, and business stakeholders. Essential skills include deep knowledge of web content management and the ability to build, manage, and optimize content.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Content Management System:

  • Build, manage, and publish a wide range of content pages within the CMS, ensuring they are accurately formatted, tagged, and linked.

  • Oversee and execute content migration projects, working with content and technical teams to ensure a seamless transition with minimal disruption.

  • Ensure content integrity and consistency by adhering to brand guidelines, information architecture principles, and content best practices.

  • Collaborate closely with content creators and designers to publish and update web pages, landing pages, and other digital assets.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve CMS-related technical issues, partnering with development teams to find effective solutions.

  • Strategically maintain an organized content structure within the CMS to improve navigation, scalability, and user experience.

Governance and Strategy:

  • Develop and enforce CMS governance standards, including user access policies and content archival processes, to ensure a clean and efficient system.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on CMS capabilities, providing training and support to content contributors and other stakeholders.

  • Identify and implement improvements to CMS workflows and page-building processes to enhance efficiency and accelerate publishing timelines.

  • Collaborate with developers and designers to define and manage new content models and reusable components, ensuring a scalable and flexible architecture.

  • Lead the tracking and reporting of page performance using analytics tools to monitor key metrics, including rankings, traffic, and conversions.

  • Translate complex data from analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console) into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Stay ahead of evolving SEO trends and algorithm updates, particularly those related to how search engines interpret content from CMS platforms.

  • Have 4+ years of proven, hands-on experience in a dedicated CMS specialist or web content management role.

  • Have a track record of improving search rankings and driving organic traffic by building highly effective CMS pages.

  • Have strong hands-on experience with a major CMS, with specific experience in headless CMS platforms like Contentful.

  • Have a strong understanding of web accessibility standards and how to build pages that comply with them.

  • Have proficiency with SEO and web analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar platforms.

  • Have a solid grasp of technical SEO principles, including schema markup, site architecture, and Core Web Vitals.

  • Have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for conveying complex information clearly.

  • Have excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

  • Have deep commitment to staying up to date with SEO trends and industry best practices.
