Senior Manager, Fraud Strategy
Flexiti Financial is looking for a Senior Manager, Fraud Strategy to join its Risk team. The Senior Manager, Fraud Strategy will be responsible for developing and implementing fraud risk mitigation strategies with a focus on account transactions, fraud models and a test/learn approach. Strategy design is expected to minimize fraud losses and optimize operational costs while ensuring a positive customer experience. This position will be critical in the delivery of a general-purpose credit card that offers promotional financing.
Responsibilities
- Support fraud risk management for the delivery of a general-purpose credit card offering consumer financing with promotional terms.
- Conduct gap analysis and determine optimal credit card settings for fraud risk management.
- Develop, implement, and monitor fraud prevention strategies.
- Support the testing of fraud mitigation strategies for transaction authorizations, card management and account updates.
- Support Operations to ensure fraud investigator and call centre demands are optimized, including strategies that define workflow.
- Work with the reporting team to build data extraction of key data in support of trend analysis and fraud KPIs.
- Support fraud strategies through improved procedures and policies.
- Identify and escalate material fraud risks and trends.
- Leverage industry fraud products such as Falcon and 3DSecure to build real-time fraud detection.
- Produce actionable business insights through the analysis of large amounts of data.
- Help build fraud prevention strategies from point of concept, through data analytics, strategy design, signoff, execution, and monitoring.
Qualifications
- University Degree in a quantitative field, economics, business, engineering or equivalent.
- Combined minimum of 8+ years of experience developing fraud mitigation strategies for unsecured lending products.
- Strong understanding of consumer credit card industry and products, credit card business fundamentals, knowledge of P&L reporting and the credit card lifecycle.
- Experience with credit card platforms such as TSYS, Fiserv/ First Data or similar system, parameter settings and rules management.
- Experience with strategy development tools such as PowerCurve or TRIAD.
- Experience using SQL to analyze, extract and validate data. Experience with similar tools such as SAS, Python or R will be considered.
- Knowledge of credit card data and Fraud Key Performance metrics.
- Experience with machine learning and predictive model development and application.
- Experience with industry fraud score (Falcon), real-time fraud scoring, 3DSecure (dynamic authentication), and consumer SMS alerts.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, communicate complex problems, and deliver accurate, timely work.
- Ability to collaborate with partners and vendors on initiative requirements and solution design.
- Strong statistical knowledge with a proven track record of working with other business leaders from across the organization to drive analytically based strategies.
- Proven analytical and conceptual thinker who can adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- High attention to detail, sound judgment in the execution of fraud strategies and superior analytical skills.
- Previous people management experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
