Flare is a breakout cybersecurity Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company with a mission to empower organizations to take control of their data and protect their customers, employees and brand by shedding light on external threats. We enable cybersecurity teams to proactively detect high-risk external exposure across the dark and clear web, before threat actors have a chance to leverage it. We unify the core functionalities of cyber threat intelligence and external attack surface management into a single, intuitive platform.

The Role
As our VP of Marketing at Flare, you will be the strategic architect of our go-to-market engine and brand presence in the cybersecurity landscape. You'll lead the charge in positioning Flare as the definitive solution for threat exposure management, driving demand generation that fuels our aggressive growth targets while building the best marketing in cybersecurity. This role demands deep cybersecurity expertise to authentically engage with our technical audience and translate complex threat intelligence concepts into compelling narratives that resonate with CISOs, security teams, and IT decision-makers. This role will report directly to the CMO.
Your Purpose and Impact
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to build and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that establishes Flare as the market leader in threat exposure management while driving predictable, scalable revenue growth. You will:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with Flare's business objectives and growth targets
- Build and lead a high-performing marketing team across demand generation, product marketing, content, events, and digital marketing
- Own Flare’s sales-qualified lead (SQL) funnel, optimizing conversion rates and cost per acquisition
- Create compelling positioning and messaging that differentiates Flare in the competitive cybersecurity landscape
- Partner closely with Sales to develop account-based marketing strategies for enterprise prospects
- Establish thought leadership through speaking engagements, industry analyst relationships, and strategic PR initiatives
- Drive product marketing initiatives including competitive intelligence, launch strategies, and sales enablement materials
- Oversee brand development and ensure consistent messaging across all customer touchpoints
- Manage a rapidly growing team and build cohesion throughout the process.
- Build strategic partnerships with industry influencers, analysts, and technology vendors
- Represent Flare at major cybersecurity conferences and events as a company spokesperson
You'll Be a Perfect Fit If
- You have 10+ years of B2B SaaS marketing experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles
- You possess deep cybersecurity industry knowledge and can speak fluently about threat intelligence, attack surface management, and security operations
- You have a proven track record of scaling marketing organizations at high-growth cybersecurity SaaS companies ($10M-$100M ARR)
- You're obsessed with metrics and have experience managing marketing budgets of $2M+ annually
- You have hands-on experience with account-based marketing (ABM) strategies for enterprise sales cycles
- You excel at translating complex technical concepts into compelling value propositions for diverse audiences
- You have strong leadership experience building and mentoring marketing teams of 5+ people
- You're skilled in marketing automation platforms (HubSpot, Marketo), CRM systems (Salesforce), and analytics tools
- You have established relationships within the cybersecurity community and understand the buyer's journey for security tools
- You thrive in fast-paced startup environments and can balance strategic thinking with tactical execution
- You have a detailed and deep knowledge of cybersecurity, technical security buyers, threat intelligence.
