What you’ll get to work on

As a Senior Data Scientist at Flare, you will immerse yourself in emergent threat analytics, tackling a wide range of problems and models, with a primary focus on text data. This role offers numerous opportunities for creative problem-solving, allowing you to apply first-principles thinking to develop and refine models that are as effective as possible. You'll work on cutting-edge threat intelligence, helping to safeguard organizations against cyber crimes, and will collaborate with a highly skilled team to drive real, impactful solutions.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Develop Advanced Threat Models: Design and implement sophisticated models to analyze and predict emergent cyber threats, leveraging machine learning and data science techniques.
  • Multifaceted Problem Solving: Tackle a variety of challenges across different types of data and models, applying innovative approaches to deliver effective solutions.
  • Collaborative Innovation: Work closely with the engineering team to support and enhance our software stack, including Python, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch.
  • Data Analysis and Insights: Conduct in-depth analyses of large-scale text data, extracting actionable insights to inform and improve our threat intelligence capabilities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in the development and automation of processes to ensure high-quality, tested codebases and to streamline workflows.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Support and mentor junior team members, sharing your expertise and fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Proven Expertise: Extensive experience in data science and machine learning, with a track record of developing and deploying effective models.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Python, Docker/Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and related technologies.
  • Innovative Thinker: Ability to think critically and work from first principles to solve complex problems.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Experience working with engineering teams and supporting software development processes.
  • Versatile Skills: Proficiency in handling and analyzing text data, with a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical decisions and trade-offs, and of providing mentorship to less experienced team members.
  • Adaptable Learner: Quick to learn new technologies and methodologies, consistently delivering value through iterative improvements.
