About the role:
As a Bilingual Underwriter, Concierge Support, you’ll be the first point of contact for our Concierge merchants, helping guide them through the loan application process. You’ll play a key role in resolving application-related questions and challenges, delivering a high level of personalized support and building strong relationships along the way.
Working as part of our Concierge Support team, you’ll focus on the pre-funding stage, ensuring a smooth experience for merchants and contributing to overall customer satisfaction through timely, high-quality service. Every interaction matters, and your support will help drive the success of the program.
Duration: 6 month contract.
Working hours: Monday to Friday from 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM (PT) and 1-2 weekend shifts per month on average.
What you'll do:
- Deliver exceptional service as a brand ambassador for Financeit.
- Respond to merchant inquiries and escalations in a timely and professional manner.
- Demonstrate a genuine curiosity about our Concierge merchants to support inquiries and guide them through the loan application process.
- Underwrite and adjudicate loans in accordance with Financeit’s policies, evaluating risk and ensuring loan quality.
- Help maintain industry-leading service levels, including decisioning exceptions where appropriate.
- Communicate underwriting decisions clearly to merchants and sales associates.
- Identify and process exceptions with proper documentation and approvals.
- Maintain accurate records and merchant information using internal systems.
- Stay current on lending policies, compliance requirements, and underwriting procedures.
- Help prevent fraud and financial loss by following proper security protocols.
- Build strong relationships with merchant partners through consistent, high-quality support.
- Manage all communications (phone, email, etc.) and ensure timely follow-up with detailed documentation.
- Bilingual in French and English (required).
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in personal credit lending, or 3+ years of sales experience with a foundational understanding of personal credit lending within the financial services industry.
- Strong customer service background, ideally within financial services; experience in sales or relationship management is a strong asset.
- Excellent technical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working in cross-functional or team-based environments.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining quality standards.
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information and documentation.
- Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to influence effectively.
