About the Role:

We’re seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Ethereum Staking Infrastructure team, to manage and innovate Ethereum blockchain infrastructure accounting for more than $4 billion in assets. This role combines DevOps practices and software development - with a focus in Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and Golang applications. The position requires building custom tools and automating processes in a highly secure and scalable environment.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and operate scalable, secure, and stable cloud-based deployments for Ethereum staking
  • Develop tools in Golang to enhance the automation, reliability, and monitoring of our staking operations
  • Manage infrastructure across multiple cloud providers (AWS, GCP) - with a focus on performance and security
  • Automate deployment processes and develop blockchain key management solutions using Kubernetes
  • Identify and implement security measures and manage secure storage tools such as Hashicorp Vault
  • Craft and maintain custom Terraform modules to manage and provision cloud infrastructure efficiently
  • Engage in continuous improvement of infrastructure automation and deployment pipelines
  • Articulate technical strategies and progress to Engineering Leadership and Product teams
  • Promote best practices in cloud infrastructure, networking, and security
  • Mentoring and guiding junior engineers on the team

Qualifications

  • In-depth experience deploying on Kubernetes
  • Software development experience and solid understanding of programming languages (such as Golang, Python, etc.)
  • Expertise in deploying to cloud infrastructure (such as AWS, GCP)
  • Experience managing highly available and highly secure environments at scale and with security tooling
  • Proven expertise in Linux - such as in networking and security best practices
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines for automated infrastructure provisioning and application deployment
  • Experience mentoring and guiding junior-level engineers

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Kubernetes-related security best practices (RBAC, network policies, etc.)
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
  • Knowledge of decentralized consensus mechanisms, including Proof-of-Work and Proof-of-Stake
  • Understanding of Ethereum technologies and familiarity with various Consensus and Execution clients
  • Knowledge of secure storage tools like HashiCorp Vault and access management tools like Teleport
  • Experience in developing custom Terraform modules

Base Salary: The CAD base salary range for this position is CAD $140,000 - $170,000. The US base salary range for this position is USD $140,000 - $170,000. This range reflects base salary only, and does not include additional compensation or benefits. For candidates in other countries, the pay range will be disclosed upon your first interview with Figment (being a globally remote company, the list of salary ranges would simply be too long to note here!). The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum range for a new hire across all Canada or the US. A candidate’s specific pay within the range will be determined by various factors including job-related skills, relevant education, and training.
