About Fable:

Fable is a Toronto-based accessibility company that is helping F500 companies make their digital products accessible to a billion people with disabilities worldwide. We’ve built a platform that connects product teams to people with disabilities for user research and testing. We also provide custom accessibility training powered by people with disabilities. In November 2021, we launched Fable Upskill to provide custom accessibility training, powered by people with disabilities. Other teams at Fable also leverage our LMS capabilities to deliver value to our community of Fable Testers, our internal team, and to anyone living with a disability who wishes to develop new skills within the tech sector.

About the role:

As a Senior QA Specialist at Fable, you will be responsible for identifying and preventing software defects in Fable’s properties using a combination of manual and automated testing. You will also monitor and ensure a very high standard of quality in the dimensions of security, accessibility and performance. 

Key job responsibilities:

• Validate that product development work meets acceptance criteria
• Perform exploratory, functional and regression testing as well as monitoring
• Lead product demos of high impact updates to key internal stakeholders
• Support in bug prioritization and validation of external bug reports
• Design functional test cases that verify requirements and validate functionality
• Communicate results of testing, bug reports, and incidents to the development team using JIRA
• Collaborate with developers to improve the quality of deliverables and ensure that business needs are met
• Create and maintain a growing and robust suite of automated test cases
• Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions to optimize and evolve work processes and methods
• Actively contribute to the growth of our Product knowledge base

**Requirements

Skills required:**

• Experience testing within a Content Management System or e-Learning System
• Comfortable writing automated tests in JavaScript (e.g. using Cypress or Testcafe)
• Knowledge of HTML and comfort using browser inspect tools
• Experience using tools such as Swagger and Postman to test APIs
• Experience writing and executing test plans
• Ability to write MySQL queries to verify data in database
• Comfortable working with Jira, Confluence and other product management tools
• Deep understanding of and experience with digital accessibility preferred

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience working within agile software development process
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with Drupal-based products
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
• Active listening and problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage the QA responsibilities for a product as the sole QA on a team
• Ability to collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver on business goals
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
