Position Summary: Director of Business Development (NeuraCharge™)
Essential Requirements
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of proven experience in business development or strategic sales within the energy sector.
- Target Market Expertise: Demonstrated success selling to Utilities, Energy Developers, and Large C&I customers.
- Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of North American electricity markets, including Demand Response, Ancillary Services, and DER interconnection.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex AI and energy storage concepts into clear business outcomes and financial benefits.
- Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of the North American energy landscape (specifically IESO/Ontario and ERCOT/Texas markets), including Demand Response, Global Adjustment, and Ancillary Services.
- Network: Proven track record of established relationships with major Utilities, Renewable Energy Developers, and Large Industrial consumers.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to discuss Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), API integrations, and AI-driven predictive modeling (e.g., 2-hour vs. 4-hour peak prediction) with technical stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; an MBA or a background in Energy Economics and CEM is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Market Expansion & Revenue Growth
- Pipeline Development: Identify, qualify, and close high-value opportunities with Battery Energy Storage (BESS) developers and large-scale industrial energy users.
- Strategic Partnerships: Establish and maintain long-term relationships with Utilities to integrate NeuraCharge™ into grid services, VPP programs, and reliability initiatives.
- Market Positioning: Navigate the North American energy landscape (specifically IESO, AESO, PJM, NYSO and ERCOT) to position Edgecom as the leader in AI-driven peak prediction and asset dispatch.
Technical Value Engineering
- ROI Modeling: Work closely with the engineering team to build compelling financial models that demonstrate the revenue potential of NeuraCharge™-optimized assets.
- Bespoke Solutions: Tailor NeuraCharge™ value propositions to meet the specific regulatory and operational needs of different jurisdictions and customer types.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor regulatory shifts and grid program changes to identify new revenue streams for our clients.
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
- Executive Presence: Deliver high-stakes presentations to C-Suite executives at global industrial firms and energy investment funds.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Product and Engineering teams to ensure the NeuraCharge™ roadmap aligns with evolving market requirements for DERMS and EMS technology.
- Industry Advocacy: Represent Edgecom Energy at key industry conferences, acting as a thought leader in the DER and AI-energy space.
