Tax Director

NDT Global, a private Company awarded Deloitte Best Managed Company, is going through a period of significant growth and we are seeking an experienced and strategic Tax Director to lead and manage the Canadian and U.S. corporate tax functions with oversite of our Global business. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance, tax planning, and risk management for our operations in Canada and the United States and supervisory responsibility for rest of world. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in cross-border taxation and experience working in both Canadian and U.S. tax environments.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the company's tax strategy for both Canadian and USA operations and rest of world.
- Provide strategic tax planning to optimize the company's effective global tax rate.
- Identify and assess tax risks and opportunities in both jurisdictions.
- Support M&A and corporate structuring activities from a tax perspective
- Oversee timely and accurate preparation and filing of Canadian and USA corporate income tax returns, GST/HST, sales tax, and other indirect taxes.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial/state, and local tax regulations.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors to manage all tax filings and audits
- Lead preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions under IFRS/GAAP.
- Ensure accurate tax reporting and disclosures in financial statements
- Liaise with external auditors on tax-related matters during financial audits
- Manage transfer pricing policies and documentation globally.
- Lead and mentor staff and collaborate with broader finance and legal teams. Supporting accurate and timely tax provisioning, working with the local finance teams and periodic review of tax heads / balances
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of eight years of tax experience in public accounting and/or industry
- CPA designation required
- Completion of In-depth Tax Course or U.S. tax accreditation is an asset
- Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate income tax and U.S. federal and state tax rules
- Experience with multinational or multi-entity corporate structures
- Prior experience with M&A tax due diligence and integrations
- Proven experience with managing cross-border tax issues and transfer pricing
- Experience with tax provisioning under IFRS and / or U.S. GAAP
- Demonstrated ability to lead people, work in a team environment and communicate effectively at all levels
- Must be proficient in spoken and written English
- Strong systems proficiency on ERP (SAP or similar)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
