Overview:

The Controller will play a key role in maintaining the financial health of the company by assisting in the management of accounting and financial operations. This position involves overseeing day-to-day financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the company's financial objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:Prepare accurate and timely financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and provide insight to support decision-making by senior management.
  • Assist in the development of financial reports and dashboards for monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Accounting Operations:Supervise and review the work of the accounting team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Financial Controls and Compliance:Assist in the establishment and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain the integrity of financial data.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), tax regulations, and other financial reporting requirements.
  • Assist with external audits, including providing necessary documentation and addressing audit inquiries.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:Collaborate with the finance team to support the annual budgeting process.
  • Assist in the development of financial forecasts and projections.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for adjustments as needed.
  • Process Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the finance department.
  • Participate in the implementation of new financial systems or tools to enhance productivity and accuracy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with other departments, including procurement, operations, and sales, to ensure alignment on financial goals and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies, as needed.
  • Training and Development:Mentor and develop finance team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Stay current with accounting and financial industry trends and regulations and share insights with the team.

  • KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in financial data analysis and reporting.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and lead by example.
  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
  • 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems including Quickbooks (e.g., ERP, Excel).
