WHAT IMPACT WILL THE QA MANAGER HAVE AT ESG?

East Side Games is looking for an experienced and passionate QA Manager who will uplevel the QA department to new heights and establish new standards and best practices.

WHAT YOU MIGHT DO IN YOUR DAY TO DAY:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow the entire QA department, including QA Analysts, QA Specialists, and QA Engineers, with a focus on technical development

  • Direct the adoption of automation strategies, ensuring tool implementation and development to improve test coverage and efficiency.

  • Develop and refine workflows, benchmarks, and frameworks to ensure both internal QA teams and external QA vendors/production are set up for success.

  • Empower internal/external teams to be held accountable for upholding quality across all projects, acting as the primary driver for process and tool improvements.

  • Oversee headcount and capacity planning to accurately forecast testing timelines and manage resources, including handling requests for additional staffing (permanent and temporary).

  • Conduct requirements gathering, risk identification, and provide detailed reporting on associated risks, bug trends, and overall quality metrics.

  • Drive all test development activities: estimation, planning, execution, reporting, and closure.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Passion for games and a commitment to quality and player experience

  • Proven track record of building, leading and mentoring QA teams, implementing best practices and technical QA frameworks common in game development, establishing Key Performance Indicators, using data and automation to drive and improve testing strategies

  • Expert knowledge of QA requirements, tools, software testing standards, methods and conventions, and the product development cycle

  • Demonstrated experience developing high quality test plans, test designs, test strategies, automation strategies and leading test execution

  • Experience in a Live Operations or SAAS environment, monitoring game health metrics, service levels, and troubleshooting live game issues.

  • Flexible and team-oriented with excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills

  • Experience in resource management and capacity planning for multiple simultaneous projects at scale

  • Direct experience with vendor management, including evaluating, onboarding, and optimizing performance of QA outsourcing partners.

Compensation Range: $90K-$130K CAD per annum. Salary is determined by experience, skills, and capabilities.
