Opportunity

The Senior Manager, IT & Cybersecurity will lead e-Zinc’s information technology function, owning the strategy, implementation, and day-to-day operations of all IT systems across the organization. This role is critical to enabling a rapidly scaling clean-tech manufacturing company, ensuring teams across R&D, Product, Operations, Commercial, and Corporate functions are supported by secure, reliable, and cost-effective technology infrastructure.

This position will combine hands-on technical leadership with strong vendor and third-party management, cybersecurity and IP protection oversight, and a pragmatic, scalable approach to IT in a hardware and manufacturing environment. The role will focus on building systems that support growth, protect sensitive intellectual property, and optimize costs while maintaining high availability and performance.

Position Scope and Responsibilities

IT Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute e‑Zinc’s IT strategy aligned with business growth, manufacturing scale‑up, and technology roadmaps.
  • Establish IT governance, policies, standards, and best practices across the company.
  • Lead internally and manage external MSP and IT partners

Infrastructure & Systems Management

  • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of core IT infrastructure (network, servers, cloud services, endpoints, security tools).
  • Ensure availability and reliability of systems supporting R&D, testing labs, and production facilities.
  • Drive lifecycle management for hardware, software, mobile device management, and enterprise applications.
  • Optimize business-facing systems such as M365, Entra, and Office applications.
  • Manage and maintain:
  • 3D Design suites such as SolidWorks, PDM/Manage, Fusion360.
  • Azure infrastructure including File Storage, SQL Databases, Web Application Firewalls and Site-to-Site VPN
  • Remote Access and Teleworking tools such as AnyConnect, Client VPN and AnyDesk.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Own cybersecurity strategy, policies, and implementation to protect intellectual property and manufacturing operations.
  • Manage and maintain e-Zinc's Backup and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) systems, including annual testing.
  • Oversee identity and access management, vulnerability management, and incident response processes.
  • Manage existing data security systems. Assist in implementing Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies and systems.
  • Manage cybersecurity testing and validation including penetration testing, tabletop exercises and updating of cybersecurity playbooks.
  • Maintain compliance with CAN/DGSI 104:2024.
  • Manage and Maintain XDR/EDR, SIEM and SoC in collaboration with security partners.

Support & Operations

  • Oversee the IT service desk and end‑user support model.
  • Maintain internal ticketing system. Handle escalations from help desk or external partner (MSP).
  • Establish SLAs, operational metrics, and continuous improvement programs including tracking of KPIs for tickets, patching etc.
  • Maintain IT documentation, asset tracking, and configuration management as well as manage software licensing and renewals.
  • Implement hardening strategies for connected lab equipment and other Operational Technology (OT)

Project & Vendor Management

  • Manage IT projects from planning to execution, including system implementations, facility buildouts, and technology upgrades.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with IT vendors, ensuring cost‑effective and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Experience managing IT operations in a manufacturing or R&D‑heavy environment.
  • Background working with hybrid cloud/on‑premise environments or IT supporting laboratory equipment.
  • Experience administering Microsoft InTune
  • Experience administering Solidworks PDM/Manage Vaults and FlexNET
  • Strong technical competency across networking, cloud (Microsoft + Azure preferred), cybersecurity, enterprise applications, and endpoint management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner with engineering, operations, finance, and executives.
  • Familiarity with ISO/NIST frameworks for cybersecurity is an asset
  • Experience with database administration (SQL, InfluxDB) and programming (Python, JavaScript) are an asset.

Compensation & Total Rewards

The expected annual salary range for this role is $120,000- $135,000. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and overall fit for the position.
