- WordPress Development & Customization: Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites using Gutenberg, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), and other modern tools to build dynamic, high-performance, and user-friendly sites.
- Responsive & Mobile-First Design: Build responsive, mobile-first websites that perform seamlessly across all devices and browsers, ensuring an optimal user experience on any platform.
- WebOps Process Management: Establish and maintain efficient WebOps processes, including agile sprint planning, version control with GitHub, and coordination with hosting providers to optimize performance, scalability, and deployment cycles.
- SEO & Accessibility Optimization: Implement SEO best practices to optimize websites for search engines, including proper markup, fast-loading pages, and on-page optimization. Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards to make websites inclusive for all users.
- Website Infrastructure Management: Oversee and manage website infrastructure, including optimizing databases, ensuring uptime, integrating APIs, and maintaining staging and deployment protocols for smooth site operations.
- Performance & Engagement Optimization: Continuously enhance website performance and user engagement by implementing front-end tools such as chat widgets, pop-ups, and iterative A/B tests to improve conversion rates and site speed.
- Custom Development & Integration: Create reusable Gutenberg blocks tailored to specific project needs, and work with third-party APIs and integrations to expand website functionality.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with designers, content creators, and other developers to deliver pixel-perfect layouts and ensure smooth ContentOps workflows. Ensure a collaborative and iterative approach to feature development and optimization.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Use monitoring tools to track website performance, uptime, and load times. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner, ensuring seamless website functionality.
- Documentation & Workflow Maintenance: Document development processes, workflows, and best practices for internal and client use. Provide ongoing training and support to junior team members as needed.
Requirements:
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on web development experience, with a proven portfolio of WordPress projects that demonstrate your expertise in front-end and back-end development.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), PHP, TypeScript, and APIs. Expertise in WordPress development, including custom solutions, Gutenberg, ACF, and plugin integration.
- Responsive & Mobile-First Development: Strong understanding of responsive design principles and frameworks, with the ability to create fluid, mobile-first layouts across a variety of devices and screen sizes.
- Performance Best Practices: Familiarity with performance optimization techniques such as caching, lazy loading, and image compression.
- Accessibility Standards: Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and the ability to implement accessibility standards to ensure inclusive web experiences.
- Version Control & Debugging: Experience using GitHub for version control, working in dual staging environments, and using debugging tools like Chrome Developer Tools and Query Monitor to troubleshoot and optimize websites.
- Project Management & Collaboration: Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage timelines. Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with designers, content teams, and other developers.
- WebOps & Continuous Improvement: Experience in WebOps processes, including implementing and managing workflows for testing, deployment, and maintenance of live websites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with headless WordPress or integrating with REST APIs.
- Familiarity with WordPress multisite setups and managing large-scale websites.
- Experience in creating multilingual websites with plugins like WPML or Polylang.
- Knowledge of JavaScript libraries such as React, Vue, or similar.
- Experience with advanced WordPress integrations (e.g., eCommerce, CRM systems).
