The role in one paragraph

You will help our delivery teams run work well — across everything from defined client projects to ongoing managed services engagements to our internal IP and product initiatives. You'll own the work, or be paired with a leader who owns the technical direction and the client relationship or product, and your job is to keep plans on track, track the numbers that show whether an engagement is healthy, prepare time and budget reports, run the cadence, and make sure nothing falls between the cracks. This is a hands-on coordination role in a genuinely technical environment. It is the entry point into our delivery management career track, and we're looking for someone at the start of their career who wants to build something here.

What you'll be accountable for

Keeping the cadence. Every engagement runs on a regular rhythm — team sessions, governance reviews, quarterly business reviews with the client. You are responsible for scheduling them, preparing the materials, recording what was decided, and following up on actions. Without this discipline, projects drift.

Plans, backlogs, and actions. On project work that means maintaining the plan, the RAID log, and the project tasks. On squad and managed-service engagements — where there's a backlog and a flow of requests — your job is keeping items properly described, duplicates merged, stale items surfaced for a decision, intake criteria actually applied.

Making the work visible. You'll track and report the measures that tell us whether an engagement is healthy. What those measures are depends on the shape of the work — for example, milestones and burn on a project. You'll learn to tell which measures matter where, and that's one of the more genuinely interesting parts of the job.

Time and budget administration. You'll prepare time records and budget-versus-actual reporting for review and approval. This is consequential work as it drives what we invoice, how we price the next engagement, and our R&D tax credit claims.

Documentation and access discipline. You'll maintain engagement documentation and keep access lists current for the clients you support. We're ISO 27001 certified and we hold real access to our clients' systems.

Client coordination. You'll be in front of clients regularly — coordinating schedules, following up on blockers, confirming what was agreed. Not selling, not setting technical direction, but often the person a client contacts first and the one with the best vantage point of future opportunities.

Who you are

You're technical, or you're becoming technical. This is not a non-technical coordination role. You don't need to be shipping production code, but you need to be able to follow a conversation about why an integration failed, write a backlog item an engineer doesn't have to rewrite, and know when something you're being told sounds wrong. A software, data, or engineering background is what we have in mind.

You're conscientious in a way other people can rely on. This is the trait that matters most in this role, and we'll be assessing it directly. It means you finish what you start, you notice when something has gone quiet, you keep records accurate when nobody is checking, and you follow through without being chased.

You're comfortable being the person who says the uncomfortable thing. Telling a senior colleague that the thing they committed to hasn't happened is a real part of this job. So is asking an engineer to explain something for the third time.

You want to build a career in delivery, not just pass through. This is a coordination role, not an engineering role — see Where this leads. If your goal is to be a software engineer, we'd rather point you at a different path than have you leave frustrated in a year.

What you'll need

Required

  • A technical foundation — a degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, information systems, or data; or 1–2 years in a hands-on technical role

  • Evidence you finish things: a completed project, a shipped side project, a role you held to the end, a commitment you kept under pressure

  • Strong written communication — much of this role is clear, brief, well-timed writing

  • Comfort with collaboration and tracking tools, and willingness to learn our clients' tools as well as our own

  • Genuine curiosity about how businesses actually run, and how data and systems move inside them

Helpful, not required

  • Any exposure to integration, automation, or data platforms — Workday, Workato, Snowflake, Databricks, or iPaaS tooling of any kind

  • Coordination, service desk, or operations experience in a technology environment

  • Familiarity with agile ways of working

  • CAPM or equivalent, or working toward some project management certification

  • Experience in, or exposure to, a certified or regulated environment (ISO 27001, SOC 2)

What success looks like

By 30 days you are: Running the cadence for the engagements you support without prompting. You know the clients, the work, and who to ask about what

By 90 days you are: Producing engagement health reporting that people act on. Time and budget records are accurate and on schedule. You're catching problems before they're raised

By 180 days you are: Trusted directly by clients for coordination. You've improved at least one of our templates or processes because you found the current one wanting

Where this leads

This is the entry rung of our delivery management track. Your title is your grade — Technical Project Coordinator, then Project Manager, then Senior Project Manager. Your role is what you are doing on a given engagement, and that changes as you become more senior and take on more responsibilities. We'll be explicit with you about what the next rung requires and where you stand against it.
