Deeded is a leading Canadian Legal platform transforming the way real estate and mortgage transactions close. We offer homebuyers, sellers, and lenders a streamlined, transparent, and fully virtual closing experience.

Backed by SOC 2 certification and trusted by thousands of Canadians, Deeded is redefining what it means to close on a home — making it faster, easier, and more accessible than ever. We currently operate in Ontario and Alberta.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a licensed Real Estate Lawyer in Alberta to join our team.

In this role, you'll handle residential real estate closings facilitated through the Deeded platform — leveraging our technology to deliver a modern, client-friendly experience while maintaining full professional independence.

This is an ideal opportunity for a lawyer who values customer experience, embraces technology, and wants to grow a thriving real estate practice with a high volume pipeline of transactions.

What You'll Do

  • Handle residential real estate transactions including purchases, sales, mortgage refinances, switches, and title transfers for Alberta properties
  • Conduct virtual closings with clients using Deeded's secure online platform
  • Review and prepare all closing documents, including transfer of land documents, mortgage documentation, and statements of adjustments
  • Conduct title searches, review RPRs, and resolve title issues as needed
  • Manage trust accounting and ensure compliance with the Law Society of Alberta's rules and regulations
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with clients, realtors, lenders, and other stakeholders throughout the closing process
  • Ensure all transactions comply with Alberta's Land Titles Act and applicable legislation

What We're Looking For

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in residential real estate law (purchases, sales, refinances, and title transfers)
  • Familiarity with Alberta's Land Titles system and SPIN2 searches
  • Strong understanding of mortgage documentation and lender requirements
  • Excellent communication skills and a client-first approach
  • Comfortable with technology and virtual workflows — or eager to learn
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
