What will your typical day look like?

As a Consultant or Senior Consultant some of your duties will include but not limited to:

Key responsibilities:

  • Assess risks - Facilitate and document risk assessments based on an established methodology to define risks and identify control requirements. Support teams to mitigate risks of fraud, waste, abuse and error within the context of technology systems, product and process development in a fast-paced environment.
  • Define requirements - Work in a multi-discipline agile team as a combined risk analyst and business analyst to document risk tolerance, solution requirements, business process requirements, integrity controls, control requirements, and controls evidence for the solution.
  • Contribute to the big picture - Work as part of a team and collaborate with other Integrity Analysts to ensure integrity risks are documented and mitigated across an agile framework of features, epics, releases and broader product and strategic contexts. Identify dependencies of integrity risks and control requirements that span across multiple product features and teams to ensure that they are adequately solutioned.
  • Be an educator - Help broader agile team members to ideate and understand integrity risks (the risks of fraud, waste, abuse, and error) and controls relevant to the features being designed; contribute integrity expertise to product design documentation and workshops.

Other aspects of the role include:

  • Support projects which design, define and build solutions for the detection and prevention of fraud, waste, abuse, and error including “Risk Based Processing” via rules and analytical models.
  • Work very collaboratively across a very complex transformation team with multiple vendors/partners and multiple client stakeholder groups.
  • Engage as part of a broader Financial Crimes team to support a variety of engagements in public sector which may include Fraud Risk Assessments, Advisory work, development of Fraud prevention policies, practices and frameworks.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new resources as the team expands.

The Financial Crime Practice at Deloitte Canada is looking for seasoned solution &/or product manager to join us on our mission to help government design and build the most innovative technology solutions to detect and prevent fraud waste and abuse in government business processes and systems.

NOTE: Given that several active projects are with the Government of Canada, candidate must have or be eligible to obtain a secret security clearance with the Government of Canada

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You are someone who is/has:

  • Highly collaborative working in complex multi-stakeholder and multi-systems integrator environments.
  • Strong communicator, including listening skills with an ability to translate insights across business and technology teams and to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions.
  • Good understanding of agile methodologies, product development and principles of solution planning and design, including prior experience and demonstratable skills.
  • Interested in understanding the problem statement and use cases of Program Integrity (e.g., fraud, waste, abuse, and error in public sector programs and services) and contributing to the development of Program Integrity projects in Canada.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, adept at developing formulas to simplify processes, managing large and complex data sets, and identifying patterns to translate into actionable insights.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology: computer science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or business: finance, business, business analysis, etc.
  • 3-4+ years of experience in projects involving risk assessments, risk controls development/design, broader business analysis focused on risk prevention.
  • Previous experience with building prevention and detection use cases, operating models, strategies in fraud preventions
  • A curious and open mind, keen on delivering the best solution to our clients.
  • Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions.
  • Exceptional, critical thinking, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Strong team and work ethic, comfortable with ambiguity, change and challenge.
  • Consulting or other client-facing experience is preferred.
  • Previous working experience in the public sector is preferred.
  • French language is an asset.

Total Rewards


The salary range for this position is between $68,000 - $102,000 (Consultant) and $84,000 - $126,000 (Senior Consultant), and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
