What will your typical day look like?
As the Senior Market Intelligence Specialist, you'll dive into the fascinating world of campus and experienced hire compensation as part of our Total Rewards team! You will be responsible for finding alternative and creative ways to gather market intelligence beyond salary surveys and will be encouraged to use AI and GenAI in the process. Armed with this knowledge, you'll provide recommendations on competitive compensation rates, ensuring our business applies industry best practices and stays ahead of the game. Additionally, you’ll have the chance to collaborate with our talented team and help guide strategic decision making when it comes to compensation philosophy. Expectations of this role are:
- Liaising across all businesses as it relates to our go-to-market campus and experienced hire compensation and Total Rewards strategy
- Leveraging alternative and creative ways of gathering intel beyond traditional sources available
- Conducting market research and analysis and providing recommendations in support of our campus hire Total Rewards offering
- Conducting market benchmarking exercise including:
- Gathering and analyzing market data and intelligence to inform the firm’s campus compensation and Total Rewards strategies
- Completing market sensing exercises through primary and secondary resources including desktop research and by leveraging AI
- Providing insights around market trends and movements, modelling scenarios and calculating cost impacts to determine affordability
- Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders (i.e. Talent Advisors, Business Leaders, campus recruitment teams, etc.) to share recommendations in alignment with business strategy
- Preparing reporting and analysis of key metrics for the business as required
- Reviewing and developing leadership communication materials to support Total Rewards programs
- Support the team as required across all dimensions of our Total Rewards program, including during our financial planning and Mid-Year & Year-End compensation cycles
About the team
Total Rewards is a Centre of Excellence within the People Experience team, a key function of the Culture & People Office. The role of the team is to drive leading practices and processes by applying deep HR functional knowledge, a strong understanding of business imperatives, and leading trends to deliver market leadership.
We do this by:
- Acting as a steward of the employee experience, with services aligned to key employee lifecycle milestones
- Establishing program services to support complex, escalated, or strategic process/cycle needs
- Focusing on the employee journey by delivering end-to-end operational and strategic experiences through defined processes that are standard for all businesses
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
You are someone who is/has:
- 4-5 years of compensation or equivalent HR experience in a large (ie. 5,000-10,000 employees), multi-discipline, multi-location environment; relevant university or college degree (HR, Business, Administration) and CCP designation would be considered an asset
- A self-sufficient research specialist with expertise in looking beyond traditional data sources
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to create insights from data, including advanced knowledge of MS Excel (ie. create complex formulas, pivot tables, vlook-ups, and conditional statements)
- Experience in market benchmarking and analyzing data from compensation surveys
- Thorough understanding of compensation policies and practices
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to summarize findings and key trends
- Effective interpersonal skills for building connections and collaborating across all levels of the firm
Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $58,000 - $96,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
