What will your typical day look like?
Deloitte’s IT Audit & Assurance team is growing and we are looking for an SAP Senior Manager, IT Audit & Assurance to join our team.

You will be primarily involved in managing SAP audit and advisory engagements, including end-to-end scoping, planning and delivery of IT audits / advisory reviews of SAP, including but not limited to SAP ECC, SAP S/4 HANA, SAP GRC and other SAP-related applications and tools and supporting infrastructure. IT audits of SAP include Information Technology General Controls (ITGCs) testing, SAP IT Automated Controls (ITACs) testing, segregation of duties (SOD) testing and SAP conversations/transformations.
You will:
- Lead discussions with clients and manage SAP teams to execute audit and advisory engagements for clients in various industries, ensuring compliance with global standards and industry best practices.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of clients' SAP systems, identifying risks and providing recommendations to improve controls and processes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technical developments in SAP IT risks and auditing, and effectively communicate changes to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Take an active role in marketplace activities by leveraging your technical expertise to identify opportunities for growth and optimization.
- Develop meaningful internal firm and external client relationships.
- Manage engagement risk through leading quality assurance reviews of project and audit deliverables, engagement planning and monitoring and engagement profitability.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
As an SAP Senior Manager, IT Audit & Assurance, you may also be involved in the following:
- SAP ECC and S/4 HANA IT Internal Audits – For an organization’s SAP IT controls, provide value-added insights, relevant analyses and recommendations of the design and operating effectiveness of controls in their SAP environment.
- Advisory projects in the areas of Internal Controls Certification for Canadian and US listed companies using SAP as one of their main financial reporting systems.
- Service Organization Controls Audit (“SOC” reports, including SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports).
- SAP Business Process segregation of duties (SOD) controls design, assessment and reviews.
- Advisory projects in the SAP security space.
- Advisory projects involving testing of SAP automated process controls and key reports.
- SAP S4 Hana System Implementation Lifecycle controls assurance.
About the team
Our IT Audit & Assurance team helps organizations transform the ways they leverage people, third-party relationships, technology, data, business processes and controls to manage operational and financial risks and elevate business performance. We deliver risk and control services related to IT, entity level, and business process controls and help organizations address regulatory and marketplace demand to manage third-party risk through our third-party assurance and third-party optimization services.
Our work helps elevate trust, integrity and confidence in Canadian organizations by assuring and advising on IT and emerging technology risks to help our clients achieve regulatory, internal and extended enterprise requirements and maximize their impact.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant SAP audit work experience, including in performing financial statement audits under PCAOB and/or CPAB standards (required), ICFR/SOX/Internal Audit engagements (recommended) and SAP Advisory engagements (recommended).
- Exceptional understanding of SAP modules, controls, and security frameworks, including for SAP ECC, SAP S/4 HANA, FIORI, GRC, IDM.
- Familiarity with SAP tools and accelerators.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong innovative and critical thinker and ability to apply risk-based judgement, with the drive and commitment to stay up to date on current technology, as well as industry best practices and procedures.
- Big Four or other professional audit services firm experience.
- Strong understanding and experience with SAP implementation project management.
- Strong experience with the identification and or evaluation of process level application controls within complex system transformation projects involving SAP.
- Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to effectively work with others in teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision and demonstrated ability to learn and succeed in a high-paced environment.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm and energy for working and building high-performance teams and serving some of Canada’s most exciting organizations.
- University degree in a computer science, business or accounting discipline with excellent grades.
- Professional designation is preferred (e.g., SAP designation(s), CISA, CISSP, CPA or CIA).
Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $88,000 - $191,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
