What will your typical day look like?
Working as part of our Infrastructure & Capital Projects Advisory team, you will assist our clients define, evaluate, plan and deliver major capital and construction initiatives.
This includes the following:
- Scope and change management
- Cost and schedule management
- Risk and quality management
- Contract administration
- Communications and project reporting
You will provide advisory support and independent oversight of initiatives through project/contract reviews, assessments and/or audits and provide advice to our clients’ senior executives and Boards as they proactively strategize and deliver on their large capital projects.
Using our leading practices on governance, people, processes, technology, and data, our practitioners strengthen our client’s capital projects framework to help mitigate risks on their initiatives.
About the team
Working in a fast paced and professionally rewarding environment, our Infrastructure & Capital Projects team is comprised of 150 professionals nationally. We support public and private sector clients in various industries including infrastructure, transit, nuclear, mining, manufacturing, healthcare, and aerospace.
Deloitte’s Capital Projects group provides a variety of consulting services to capital project owners, governmental agencies, institutions, developers, or any organization with a significant interest in the successful delivery of a capital project. Our team of experienced engineers, quantity surveyors, construction managers, architects, and other construction professionals possess comprehensive design and construction industry experience.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
We are looking for professionals at the Manager level to join our Capital Projects team. Candidates will be flexible and able to travel, as required.
The successful candidate will have:
- 5-8 years of experience in project management including project planning, project controls, scheduling and coordination of capital projects/ programs;
- Background or qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, and/orrelated construction experience:
- Strong written & verbal communication and presentation skills;
- Proficient use of MS Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint);
- Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence; and
- Experience managing high performing team.
The following experience would be considered an asset:
- Professional Engineering, PMP/PMI/AACE/RICS designation or other recognized professional qualifications:
- Must be eligible for Government of Canada Reliability clearance;
- Experience in management consulting;
- Scheduling / planning work and developing/analyzing schedules based on leading practices including use of MS Project and/or P6;
- Earned value management and developing effective executive reports and dashboards;
- Capital Project estimation;
- Risk management on large engineering and infrastructure projects; and
- Project management information systems (PMIS) and technology solutions (for example, Primavera P6, Ecosys, Kahua, Unifier and/or PRISM, ARM/Risk Analyzer).
