A role with Deloitte’s Early Talent Recruitment team is an opportunity to make an impact in shaping our firm of the future, starting with our most important assets, our people.

At Deloitte, we are driven by our purpose to make an impact that matters to our clients, our people, and our communities. We have been committed to working alongside Indigenous leaders, communities, and organizations for nearly 30 years. By investing our time and professional skills, we aim to break down barriers such as access to education and employment in order to build an inclusive and sustainable future for all. From our vast Indigenous and allies community to our recent Silver level certification in the PAR program from the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business, we continue to strive to advance reconciliation in all areas of our firm driven by our Reconciliation Action Plan.

By living our Purpose, we will make an impact that matters:

  • Enjoy flexible, proactive, and practical benefits that foster a workplace of well-being, connectedness, and cultural celebration
  • Build a network of colleagues for life

What will your typical day look like?

As part of Deloitte’s Talent Acquisition team, you will play a key role in assisting in the execution of Deloitte Canada’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) based on the guiding commitments under the pillars of Education, Economic Empowerment, Employment, and Inclusion.  This role will leverage sourcing skills to attract, assess and manage Indigenous candidates through the campus recruitment process for a wide range of early talent internship and co-op opportunities at Deloitte.  This position will also partner with other Indigenous professionals, both on our talent team and across the firm, to develop custom recruitment strategies and programs to increase employment opportunities for Indigenous Peoples across the firm.

This position offers the flexibility to work remotely; however, it’s important to note that some travel may be required to fulfill job responsibilities. The extent and frequency of travel will depend on specific project needs and collaboration requirements.

About the team

The Early Talent (Campus) Recruitment team collaborates with internal clients and across the Culture and People organization to provide strategic insight and develop a tailored recruitment strategy – driving targeted events and other programs to ensure hiring targets are met while ensuring an exceptional candidate experience. The team advises on, implements, and executes the recruiting strategy, providing full-lifecycle recruitment support. You will work alongside other Early Talent Specialists and Coordinators across the country on national large-scale programs to smaller, local targeted events.

You will also be joining our growing Indigenous community at Deloitte – which consists of Indigenous employees (First Nations, Inuit, Métis) across Turtle Island working in several different service lines at the firm. On top of participating in and celebrating Indigenous cultures both in the workplace and individually through paid cultural days, our Indigenous community helps provide invaluable advice to the different areas of the firm on advancing reconciliation in a corporate setting.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

This role is best suited for a motivated self-starter, who thrives in ambiguity and brings insights and recommendations to our Early Talent recruiting team. Project management skills are beneficial as is the ability to partner with cross-functional teams. In this role, you will be responsible for executing a targeted national campus strategy focusing on early Indigenous talent. Establishing and building strong relationships with key campus contacts, actively engaging with Indigenous students and recent graduates through career fair and information sessions, and being a trusted advisor to business leaders on inclusive hiring practices will be critical components of the role.

In this role the expected qualifications are:

  • Self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, Métis) in Canada
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Indigenous recruitment, talent acquisition, or community engagement with knowledge of Indigenous hiring practices and an asset in early education initiatives.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs focused on inclusive Indigenous hiring practices
  • Experience working with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples (and communities and expertise in issues faced by Indigenous peoples and communities in Canada)
  • Demonstrated interest in and commitment to furthering reconciliation with Indigenous and non-Indigenous Peoples
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and strengthen deep-rooted relationships with key partnerships and First Nations, Métis, and Inuit candidates
  • Ability to work collaboratively and inclusively to promote diversity and inclusion in recruitment efforts.
  • Demonstrated experience in project and program management : organization, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
  • Due to the nature of the role having interactions with National & Global clients, English is required for this position.
