A data steward leader ensures delivery and maintenance of a global multi-functional metadata and governance system with defined data processes and procedures documented in a well-maintained platform. A data steward leader will supervise a team of data stewards that are either direct or indirect reporting staff. Each data steward focuses on determining and documenting a common definition of Deloitte’s data elements through a combination of collaboration and influence. In addition, each data steward will ascertain, finalize, and document expected data quality that can be verified with predetermined measures. Other aspects of metadata that each data steward must obtain agreement and document include data lineage, data confidentiality, data consistency, data latency, and data process flows. Each data steward must communicate in a straight-forward manner these decisions to leaders that are trustees of specific data domains.

The data steward leader is an active data steward with direct metadata responsibilities within a data domain.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, data quality, database and metadata management technology, data orchestration, data process design and enterprise system integration. The data steward will contribute to key analysis, communication, and planning across various data initiatives.
