What will your typical day look like?

As a Manager, GCP Cloud Engineer, your day to day work will involve but not limited to:

  • Communicating with both developers and non-technical stakeholders of the organization's cloud footprint.Providing relevant technical area support for a DevSecOps agile development environment in any development, security and operations environment using GCP
  • Maintaining cloud components to maximize their uptime and performance and minimize their cost
  • Providing technical expertise in range of cloud technologies to include cloud development, cloud architecture, cloud system engineering, cloud security, DevSecOps engineering and operations and Agile development methodologies
  • Ensuring everything that is built is inline with infrastructure as a code principles.
  • Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible
  • Identifying and deploying security measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management
  • Striving for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development and constant deployment pipeline.
  • Owning the day-to-day health, uptime, security, monitoring, and reliability of services and server infrastructure 
  • Working in a 24x7 rotation, monitoring, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing production software issues based on tickets and alerts

As a manager in this role, you bring:

  • Relevant technology experience with ability to contribute to an end-to-end solution using Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Robust working experience with Linux and Windows operating system
  • Hands-on experience with Compute Engines, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Load Balancers, GKE etc.
  • Knowledge with AzureDevOps pipeline to build and support CI/CD automation and working experience with Terraform and reusable Terraform modules
  • Working knowledge of GCP Cloud Services and solid understanding of security best practices and cost optimization techniques such as Committed Use Discounts & Reservations
  • Experience with scripting languages preferably python
  • Previous experience with REST APIs to support integration of infrastructure, cloud and PaaS technologies.
  • Knowledge of optimization, automation, integration, and productivity tools
  • Functional experience with instrumentation, security, monitoring, alerting, and responding relative to performance and availability of applications
  • The ability to conduct technical deep dives into infrastructure, databases, and application, specifically in operating, and supporting high-performance, highly available services and infrastructure
  • Experience operating and supporting mission-critical applications (e.g., incident and outage management)
  • A GCP Certification (preferred)
