What will your typical day look like?


You will be accountable of our procure to pay end to end process within Canada and lead the Accounts Payable function. You will sit in our Central Business Services Finance team and work collaboratively with key business stakeholders including the Global Procurement Team, Global Financial Services, IT, Finance, and the Business to facilitate and enhance procure to pay procedures, processes, and systems.  
 

  • You will establish a governance model and provide ongoing oversight of varying end to end procurement enabled processes (i.e.: Travel Management, Procure to Pay, etc) to ensure key performance outcomes are established and regularly met.  This will involve liaising with local stakeholders groups and global  support teams  to establish regular reporting, the receipt and/or creations of analytics and synthesizing feedback across varying end to end processes to ensure a great client experience.  
  • Act as the Canadian Procure to Pay strategy lead and ensure procurement policy is enabled for use
  • Establish and create an internal community of Canadian Procurement Category owners and act as the internal conduit to gather feedback across the Canadian organization 
    • Work with this group to build up a wealth of knowledge on different buying categories and the Canadian experience within them
  • Work with Category Managers, business leaders and Global Procurement to project manage large Canadian procurement contracts negotiations which may involve internal sensing activities, requirements gathering, facilitating key internal decision-making sessions
  • Serve as the internal conduit to enable our DE&I and Climate supplier diversity goals by helping teams to operationalize their objectives in our current accounts payable construct
  • Be the Canadian Ariba owner and understand what is being built into the Ariba solution to provide guidance and direction when called upon by the Canadian firm 
  • Manage Global Core procurement relationship at the local level to ensure issues are proactively raised and addressed
    • This will include reviewing and monitoring KPI’s  
    • Act as the internal conduit to gather and relay feedback across the Canadian organization to Global to facilitate more efficient ways of working
  • Execute, coordinate & optimize procurement and accounts payable  operations in order to deliver expected productivity and quality targets. You will also lead projects focused on improving process and cost effectiveness such as the creation of buying guidelines and approval thresholds, and the development of detective control tools to monitor and enforce policy compliance.   
  • Act as escalation contact and trouble shooter in case of operational problems towards suppliers/vendors and Business and Service Units
     

About the team


You will be a part of the Chief Business and Finance Office (CBFO) within our Central Business Services (CBS) team. This team is a group of highly motivated, strategic minded and dynamic individuals that support and deliver finance operations across the Canadian businesses.

You are someone with:
 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or Business Administration with 5 – 10 years’ experience in the field, preferably in a Global organization within a shared service and service outsourcing environment. Related certifications such as CIPP, CPSM, MPICS preferred.
  • Procure to Pay operations management experience with a strong understanding of the wider objectives of procurement practices, such as business and strategic goals
  • Experience using supply chain management software   and tools, with a proficiency in SAP, Ariba, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, including VBA, IF functions)
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, preparing procurement analysis and developing and implementing policy enforcement processes and monitoring internal service provider KPI’s
  • The diligence to apply risk management and compliance checks when researching and analyzing supply markets and contract performance to identify potential risks and trigger risk mitigation and management responses 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with leadership team, and to client users whilst troubleshooting, proposing proactive solutions, French is a nice-to-have
  • The proven ability to balance multiple priorities, adapt to constantly changing business environment, work independently, drive projects to completion, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Process improvement mindset that is continuously striving to evolve our ways of working and improve the end user experience
