At Deloitte, you will have the opportunity to work on projects for a wide range of clients and diverse internal projects. Our Gi3 team leverages a diverse and powerful network to help our clients access government funding to accelerate their growth and overcome complex challenges. 

What will your typical day look like?

 

Our clients range from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to large Canadian and global companies. Our team also supports internal and business development initiatives to support our practice. As a Gi³ grants and incentives professional at Deloitte, you will work directly with our Grants & Incentives (G&I) Senior Advisors and play a supporting role in helping companies access funding to support their growth and innovation initiatives. You will work with a team of skilled professionals to: 

 

  • Conduct research on various government funding programs available across Canada, and gain understanding of the various business drivers behind the programs.  This may include communicating directly with program officers/administrators to seek clarification into the program eligibility criteria and the application process, and insights into any program strategic drivers
  • Act as the primary delivery resource for Deloitte’s internal incentive application preparation. This includes excellent project management skills to effectively communicate with various internal departments at Deloitte to gather necessary information and educate and manage internal and external stakeholders as it relates to incentives the firm seeks. This role offers great developmental opportunities in communication, project and stakeholder management, and leadership skills. 
  • Complete internal conflict checks and act as the primary support to the practice in developing marketing materials such as email blasts, PowerPoint decks, etc.   
  • Support business development initiatives with clients and prospects to identify and access funding to support their growth and innovation incentives. This includes communicating directly and indirectly with Deloitte’s clients to understand their investments in technology, products, operations, and their people to support Senior Advisors to determine and present which activities/projects may qualify for government incentives.
  • Support the preparation of funding applications in various capacities including application documents and templates, business and project plans, and project budgets, all under the direction of G&I Senior Advisors.
  • Assist in various small administrative and support tasks within the practice.

About the team

 

We are currently looking for a new graduate and/or professional to join our Gi³ team as a Grants and Incentives Analyst. Deloitte’s Gi³ team is the leading incentives team both in Canada and globally. We help Canadian companies become more competitive globally by advising them on business and financial strategies to support their growth plans.

You are someone who: 

 

  • Has an undergraduate degree or diploma in the humanities, social sciences, sciences or business and/or related work experience with preparing and writing grant applications, project documentation, business plans, and/or project management/administrative support; 
  • Has demonstrated competencies with MS Office suite of programs, primarily Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
  • Is comfortable systematically managing work streams that contain large amounts of data and interacting with various stakeholders; Strong organizational skills are required. 
  • Finds genuine enjoyment in research, writing, and learning about a wide array of industries, which will translate into supporting the drafting of client grant applications and/or business/marketing plans; 
  • Has superior verbal and written communication with creative ability to conceptualize and articulate client projects and future benefits. Critical analysis and problem-solving skills are necessary to make informed recommendations;
  • Ideal candidate is energetic, a self-starter and an independent learner while also being team oriented. Must be comfortable with changing environments, including receiving direction from multiple stakeholders, to manage and prioritize competing deadlines and rapidly evolving client and team needs; and 
  • Client / customer service experience in a professional or service environment considered an asset.
