What will your typical day look like?

As a Lead Cloud Engineer, your day will involve:

  • Communicating with both developers and non-technical stakeholders of the organisation's cloud footprint.
  • Designing and implementing different components which are offered by AWS
  • Maintaining cloud components to maximize their uptime and performance and minimize their cost
  • Driving innovation by automating infrastructure via your hands-on expertise with IAC (Terraform and / or AWS CloudFormation).
  • Ensuring everything that is built is in line with infrastructure as a code principles.and all components have adequate monitoring and logging to prevent outages.
  • Maintaining a well written set of documentation for the cloud services that are being used.
  • Owning the day-to-day health, uptime, security, monitoring, and reliability of services and server infrastructure
  • Practicing Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • In a 24x7 rotation, monitoring, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing production software issues based on tickets and alerts
  • Auditing, reviewing, and reporting on operational and security status of cloud environment

As a Cloud Engineer, you will bring:

  • Hands on experience with Linux and Windows operating system
  • Previous experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including but not limited to core IaaS (IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, EBS, ELB) and native AWS PaaS Services (Lambda, AWS Config, EMR, Athena, EKS, etc.)
  • Knowledge with AzureDevOps pipeline to build and support CI/CD automation and working experience with Terraform
  • Knowledge of AWS Cloud Services along with cloud automation
  • Strong experience with scripting languages
  • Good understanding of security best practices
  • Experience with SOAP and REST APIs to support integration of infrastructure, cloud and PaaS technologies.
  • Knowledge of optimization, automation, integration, and productivity tools
  • The ability to problem-solve complex problems residing in the cloud.
