What will your typical day look like?
As a Manager in Accounting and Reporting Advisory, you will have the following responsibilities:
• Review and contribute to project planning and execution, including management of economic aspects of engagements;
• Contribute to business development;
• Prepare or review notes relating to complex accounting matters and processes under IFRS, ASPE and US GAAP;
• Provide tailored accounting services to clients as they go through important disruptive events, such as Initial Public Offering (IPO), mergers and acquisitions or business model changes;
• Review client deliverables prepared by less experienced staff and develop skills, such as technical knowledge, communication skills, leadership and project management;
• Occasionally serve clients or support local office teams nationally and internationally;
• Contribute to market and brand initiatives, including the development of new service offerings and marketing campaigns within the practice;
• Develop and manage communications – internal and external – in a timely manner concerning our professionals and our clients;
• Design documentation for presentations to clients and Firm staff, and participate in those presentation;
• Provide mentorship and development to our assurance teams.
About the team
The Accounting and Reporting Advisory group is rapidly expanding in the current environment. Joining our team will provide you with opportunities to develop and hone skills, expand your internal and external networks and be a key member in the growth of our practice.
This established practice will continue to serve as the core Accounting Advisory “center of excellence”. Those joining the team will focus on Complex Accounting & Transaction Expertise and Accounting Standards Implementation Services focusing on three primary industry sectors including financial services, software and the public sector. We are looking for professionals willing to learn and who have had some experience with IFRS, US GAAP, ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Entities), and PSAS (Public Sector Accounting Standards).

You are someone with:
• A CPA, CA designation or equivalency with 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a professional services or firm setting
• Strong audit & advisory technical skills (GAAP, securities and regulatory perspectives) and solid knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP accounting standards
• Capacity to think critically about issues from a strategic perspective (options available, pros / cons of different options, proposed solution) and aptitude in researching accounting standards and related interpretive guidance
• Effective consensus building, conflict resolution, and team-building skills, including being a role model for others and imparting knowledge and experience to junior team members
• A sense of entrepreneurship and desire the contribute to the expansion of the practice
• Experience in project problem diagnosis, solution development, client communications, facilitation of decision making, documentation, managing client expectations and team leadership – i.e. the ability to “find it” and “fix it”.
