Job Summary:
The Senior Marketing Operations Manager is a senior marketing contributor who can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Key to this role is a deep understanding and commitment to data quality and familiarity with the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM), Marketing Automation Platform (MAS), ABM Platforms, and familiarity with various MarTech tools. This role encompasses program and process building, data normalization procedures, and cross-functional communications that support the marketing organization. The Senior Marketing Operations Manager will focus on cross-department program and process development to help facilitate marketing activities and company efforts designed to grow our business.
How You'll Make an Impact:
- Marketing Technology Stack Management: Manage and optimize the marketing technology stack, including marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, lead management programs, and other relevant software.
- Workflow Design and Automation: Create and optimize automated marketing workflows that nurture leads, engage customers, and drive conversions.
- Process Documentation: Using Confluence you’ll develop and maintain documentation, blueprints, and roadmaps for processes, automation, and customer journeys/experiences built within the MarTech stack.
- MarTech Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing automation strategy aligned with overall marketing and business goals.
- Data Analytics and Reporting: Support the Marketing Analyst in analyzing marketing data, generating insights, and creating regular reports to track campaign performance and measure key metrics.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with marketing technology vendors, agencies, and technology partners to ensure effective support, collaboration and best platform outcomes.
- Data Integration and Management: Ensure seamless integration between marketing automation platforms and other systems (e.g., CRM) to maintain accurate and updated customer data.
- Data Privacy and Compliance: Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (such as GDPR, CCPA) in all marketing automation activities.
- Process Optimization: Identify areas for process improvement and streamline marketing operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams, including marketing, sales, RevOps, IT, and business intelligence, to ensure seamless operations and alignment.
- Marketing Technology Evaluation: Stay updated with industry trends and evaluate new marketing technologies that could enhance automation and operations.
- Technical Support: Troubleshoot technical issues related to HTML templates, list segmentation, campaign tracking, integrations, and other aspects of our MarTech stack.
What You'll Bring to the Role:
Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in marketing operations, marketing automation, or related fields. Previous roles in progressively more responsible positions are essential.
- Proven experience in managing marketing operations, automation, and technology platforms to support marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Track record of managing and delivering marketing technology projects on time and within scope and managing relationships with marketing technology platform vendors, agencies, and technology partners.
- Experience collaborating and influencing diverse teams, including marketing, sales, IT, and analytics, to achieve marketing goals.
- Experience influencing teams through transitions, such as adopting new marketing technologies or processes.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize marketing processes, improve efficiency, and enhance operational effectiveness.
- Understanding of data privacy regulations (such as GDPR or CCPA) and experience ensuring compliance in marketing automation efforts.
Skills:
- Strong technical skills, including knowledge of marketing automation tools, CRM systems, analytics platforms, and related technologies.
- Relevant certifications from marketing/sales platforms Marketo, Salesforce, 6sense, Sales Engagement Platforms or related organizations are an asset.
- Knowledge of how to troubleshoot technical issues related to HTML templates, list segmentation, campaign tracking, integrations, and other aspects of the MarTech stack.
- Highly skilled in the ability to align marketing operations and automation strategies with long-term business goals and contribute to overall marketing strategy.
- Advanced analytical ability to analyze marketing data, extract actionable insights, and track campaign performance to make informed decisions and optimize marketing automation workflows.
- Interest in managing and mentoring teams, fostering skill growth and professional development.
- Proficiency in setting up lead scoring models to prioritize and qualify leads for the sales team.
- Strong ability to distill complex ideas into clear, persuasive narratives, driving stakeholder engagement and decision-making.
- High level of proficiency to manage and maintain clean and organized marketing databases for accurate targeting and reporting.
The expected base salary range for a new hire in this role is listed below. The annualized base salary offered is determined by each candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, training and experience. It is aligned to ensure both internal and external competitiveness using market data for the geographic location and industry. As part of the total compensation at D2L the role may be eligible for additional benefits including a Wellness Subsidy, Equity Grants, Variable Incentive, and more.
