About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll & Finance Operations Manager to join our growing team. This role will lead CruxOCM’s global payroll operations and play a vital role in scaling our finance and people systems. As a high-growth startup, we’re looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, brings structure and insight, and can own and optimize critical business processes across payroll, compliance, and finance operations.
Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role is a unique opportunity to blend technical expertise, operational leadership, and a collaborative mindset to drive cross-functional success at a company redefining industrial automation.
Leadership
- Act as the key liaison between People Ops, Finance, and Accounting for payroll strategy development
- Lead initiatives to streamline payroll processes across departments and systems
- Collaborate with the Executive team to develop long-range operating plans for compensation and benefits
- Support compliance audits and tax filing processes with minimal oversight
Technical
- Minimum 5 years of experience in multi-state and Canadian payroll cycles, ensuring timely, accurate payroll processing and reporting
- Proficiency in payroll software and systems, such as Rippling, Rillet, and Ramp
- Process payroll transactions including bonuses, commissions, off-cycle pay runs, and PTO payouts
- Oversee HR compliance, including maintaining required employee policies
- Support general finance operations, including overseeing health benefits, expense report management, and banking
- Ensure compliance with Canadian and US federal, state, provincial, and local regulations, including filings, police,s and correspondence
- Solid analytical and organizational skills, with great attention to detail
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Certification in payroll management, such as FPC or CPP preferred
