Cloud Deployment Engineer (Contract Position)

At Cord3 Innovation Inc, we offer solutions to strongly protect files and emails by encrypting them at rest and controlling access to protected data assets. These solutions deliver consistent, policy-driven data-centric security (DCS) for cloud and enterprise data that protects against access by unauthorized privileged administrators. Unlike other data security approaches, Cord3’s solutions work completely transparently to users and do not require any changes to existing applications.

Cord3 Innovation Inc. is currently seeking a Cloud Deployment Engineer to join our growing Delivery team!

Position Overview:

In this role, you will play a critical part in deploying, scaling, and maintaining our DCS solutions to meet increasing market demand. These solutions span a range of environments, including public cloud, private cloud, edge computing, on-premises, and hybrid configurations. You will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team focused on continuously evolving our technology stack and improving deployment processes.

As a Cloud Deployment Engineer, a key part of your responsibilities will be to design and maintain internal Cloud environments used for quality assurance, staging, and demonstrations. This includes managing infrastructure, application components, and the DCS platform itself. The role requires a strong technical foundation in cloud service providers, hypervisors, network and security infrastructure, Unix/Linux systems, identity management, and Microsoft BackOffice technologies to ensure seamless integration with client environments.

In addition, you should have a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), container management technologies, and user interface integration to effectively scale and support our solutions. Exceptional troubleshooting abilities and strong communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, upgrade, and maintain IT Infrastructure and Application layers including networking, firewalls, identity management, and Microsoft Backoffice for non-production Cord3 environments in cloud and hypervisor environments.
  • Design, deploy, and troubleshoot DCS architecture components for clients often in their secure, cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and vendors during DCS deployments.
  • Assess existing deployed systems, identify issues, and provide effective solutions.
  • Implement control features to meet quality standards and ensure efficiency.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues promptly.
  • Proactively identify risks and suggest improvements for future enhancements.
  • Engage in complex incident resolution.
  • Develop and automate scripts to enhance system efficiency. IaC skills (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell DSC) are highly desirable.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience.
  • Cloud service provider (CSP) design, deployment, and ongoing management experience leveraging CSPs such as Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, AWS, etc
  • Development of cloud network infrastructure, including firewalls and SDWAN; Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco and Versa highly desirable. Proven experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux environments
  • MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certification, including Windows Server and Active Directory experience as well as Microsoft BackOffice experience (Exchange, SharePoint, SQL, etc.
  • Certificate Authority (CA) management experience including creation and the application of public and private keys and certificates highly desirable.
  • Federated Identity Management experience (e.g. SAML, ADFS, OAuth) with products such Ping Federate, IBM Verify, KeyCloak, etc. highly desirable
  • Strong Docker and container orchestration skills highly desirable.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills. Soft skills would include experience with diagram tools (Visio) and PowerPoint.
  • Defence Sector experience is highly desirable.
  • Must hold or be eligible for Government of Canada Security Clearance at Secret Level or above.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

Must hold or be eligible for Government of Canada Security Clearance at Secret Level or above.

Must reside in the Ottawa, Ontario area.
