WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Role:

CoolIT Systems is seeking an EHS & Medical Advisor to support our Calgary operations. This hybrid role combines Environmental Health & Safety leadership with onsite medical and first‑aid support, ensuring a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace. You will partner closely with site leadership to develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs while serving as the primary onsite medical responder for employees.

Responsibilities:

EHS Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the EHS program for Calgary operations
  • Lead inspections, audits, job hazard assessments, and risk assessments
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; identify root causes and corrective actions
  • Support compliance monitoring, documentation, and reporting as CoolIT pursues COR Alberta and ISO 45001 certification
  • Coordinate emergency response plans, drills, and environmental programs
  • Deliver safety training and promote a strong safety culture
  • Stay current on provincial and federal EHS regulations

Medical Responsibilities:

  • Independently assess and administer first aid and emergency care
  • Maintain medical records, daily activity logs, and end‑of‑shift reports
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation and return‑to‑work programs
  • Manage medical supplies, first‑aid stations, and emergency equipment
  • Provide coaching to employees on safe work habits and injury prevention
  • Assist with emergency response, drug testing protocols, and safety operations
  • Maintain valid first aid, CPR, and AED certifications

WHO YOU ARE:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) who holds an Advanced First Aid Certificate or Advanced Care Paramedic
  • Bachelor’s Degree or certification in Occupational Health & Safety (e.g., CRSP, NEBOSH)
  • 4+ years of experience in occupational health, safety, or industrial environments
  • Experience supporting COR Alberta and/or ISO 45001 systems
  • Working knowledge of Alberta and federal OHS regulations

  • Physical capability to conduct field inspections
  • Ability to analyze information and find innovative approaches to problems

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and safety management software
