WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Line Lead Tester to join our team. You will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities on the CoolIT products for computer desktop and Enterprise/OEM server-based applications at our Calgary facility, ensuring that workflow, quality standards, and production targets are met. This role combines leadership and technical responsibilities which include coordinating line operators, monitoring performance, and performing functional and quality tests on products to ensure compliance with specifications. This role works closely with production supervisors, quality assurance, and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, drive process improvements, and maintain a safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate line operators to maintain smooth workflow and meet production targets.
- Monitor production performance by tracking output, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing corrective actions.
- Conduct functional and quality tests on products to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
- Collaborate with supervisors, quality assurance, and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and improve processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
- Maintain accurate documentation of test results, production data, and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies to promote a safe working environment.
- Train and mentor team members on operational procedures, quality standards, and best practices.
- Support a clean and organized work area to uphold safety and quality requirements.
WHO YOU ARE:
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma required.
- Prior experience with hand tools in manufacturing, wood workshops, or construction environments.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Basic math and measurement skills (e.g., fractions, decimals, imperial, and metric).
- Requires physical mobility and strength to lift up to 20 kg (44 lbs) occasionally, up to 10 kg frequently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles for process improvement.
- Knowledge of ISO or other quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous work exposure to SharePoint.
Skills:
- Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems required.
- Strong knowledge of interpreting engineering documents (drawings, specifications, etc.) required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, and Outlook required; working knowledge of Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Experience in product verification and test automation a plus
