WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Role:

We are seeking a Factory Test Automation Specialist to support the development, improvement, and deployment of automated factory test systems used for CoolIT’s liquid cooling products. In this role, you will drive factory test automation excellence by designing and implementing robust, scalable test solutions that enable data-driven quality decisions and support high‑volume manufacturing.

This position requires strong experience in industrial automation, control systems, Python-based software development, machine vision, and a solid understanding of electrical and electromechanical systems. You will collaborate closely with factory test specialists, manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to ensure the delivery of reliable, efficient, and future-ready test platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
  • Actively participate in safety training and promptly report hazards or concerns.
  • Ensure proper handling of electro‑mechanical components and compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Quality & Test Development

  • Define and drive factory test equipment and tooling requirements for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
  • Work closely with factory test specialists to automate existing software and hardware test tools.
  • Integrate factory test equipment with CoolIT’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Design and develop automated in-process and end‑of‑line (EOL) test systems for manufacturing liquid cooling products.
  • Develop and maintain Python-based test automation tools for data acquisition, control, and reporting.
  • Integrate and program PLC-based control systems (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens).
  • Implement and support industrial communication protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP, Ethernet/IP, and OPC‑UA.
  • Develop machine vision solutions for automated inspection and validation (including OpenCV-based tools).
  • Design and develop test fixtures, electrical interfaces, control panels, and related equipment.
  • Capture, analyze, and process test data using statistical methods (SPC, Cp/Cpk, ±3σ) to support automated pass/fail decisions.

WHO YOU ARE:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in:
    • Factory automation
    • Industrial testing or manufacturing environments
  • Academic coursework in testing, controls, signal conditioning, or related areas.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EIT designation

Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for automation, data processing, and system integration.
  • Experience with PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Structured Text).
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC‑UA).
  • Experience with image processing and machine vision (OpenCV or equivalent).
  • Ability to read and develop electrical schematics and control system designs.
  • Proficiency in statistical tools and methods (SPC, Cp/Cpk, Minitab or equivalent).
  • Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and a strong process‑driven approach.
