Role

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

We are seeking a talented Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our Human Resources team. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills and is passionate about impact and EHS issues with the ability to demonstrate exceptional judgement & integrity. You will be the main point of reference for all impact & EHS work at CoolIT, both internally & externally. This role will report to VP of people and will be integral to contributing to the future of scalable computer cooling solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor companywide EHS strategies and initiatives in alignment with ISO 14000 standards to enhance corporate sustainability performance.
  • Conduct comprehensive ESG assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory / reporting requirements and industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement environmental, health, and safety programs and initiatives that comply with regulatory requirements and reduce environmental impacts and occupational hazards.
  • Perform risk assessments to identify potential environmental and safety hazards.
  • Plan and conduct EHS training and drills for employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Maintain accurate records of environmental and safety inspections, incidents, and other relevant EHS data.
  • Stay up-to-date with new legislation and maintain compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to ascertain root causes and together with management, implement preventative measures.
  • Coordinate and conduct internal and regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required.
  • Advise and collaborate with management to develop, manage, and monitor EHS plans for regular operations and emergency response.
  • Manage hazardous substances according to regulatory requirements.
  • Engage with employees to foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility through continuous improvement and proactive communication.

Who You Are

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role.
  • In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and requirements.
  • Proven ability to conduct and oversee safety training sessions.
  • Proficient with EHS management systems, software and reporting requirements.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in ISO 14000 standards or relevant ESG certification is highly desirable.
  • Professional certification e.g., Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) is preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel up 30% of the time.
