Role

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The MES Engineer at CoolIT Systems plays a vital role in enhancing our manufacturing processes through the design, implementation, and optimization of our Manufacturing Execution System as part of CoolIT’s Industry 4.0 journey. This position is crucial for improving production productivity and maintaining high-quality standards using advanced technological solutions and data-driven approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct activities such as requirements gathering, testing, qualification, and support for MES implementation, from concept to deployment, with a focus on FactoryLogix.
  • Lead the development of interactive work instructions within the MES environment, enhancing clarity and efficiency on the shop floor.
  • Provide technical support to end-users in MES navigation and general system use, promoting self-sufficiency and proficiency.
  • Troubleshoot MES issues as encountered by the production team, offering expert technical assistance.
  • Analyze production data collected from the shop floor to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Lead projects to integrate MES with ERP and PLM solutions, specifically NetSuite and Arena, collaborating closely with the IT, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Implement advanced technical solutions that align with our manufacturing processes and Lean Six Sigma principles.
  • Train and support the manufacturing team to ensure effective MES utilization.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in MES and Industry 4.0 technologies, recommending system upgrades or new technologies to enhance manufacturing operations.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation for MES configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to ensure MES security and compliance with industry standards.

Who You Are

Basic Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or master’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing), IT, software development, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in MES implementation, particularly with FactoryLogix, in a manufacturing and production setting.
  • Proven experience in software development, with a strong understanding of programming languages and database management.
  • Proficiency in MES systems, preferably FactoryLogix, and in ERP and PLM solutions like NetSuite and Arena.
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, Lean Six Sigma, and data analytics.
  • Skills in developing interactive work instructions and a strong background in process automation, and IoT.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities and statistical analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership qualities, capable of managing projects and promoting team collaboration.
