An exciting and challenging position exists as the Director, Business Development (OEM) within CoolIT’s Product Department. As a senior leader on the Business Development team, you will be a key contributor to CoolIT’s continued and aggressive growth, supporting the company’s client relationship and growth strategy with key accounts and channel partners. This role will report into the Senior Vice President of Business Development.

As the Director, Business Development, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Identify strategies that allow our team to gain entry and traction with new clients
  • Enable our client-facing team to grow our business with existing clients through strategic account planning
  • Oversee all aspects of business growth and results: pipeline, proposals, pricing, contracts, revenue and profit
  • Set the path for “what’s next?” in our exciting journey as the world’s leading liquid-cooling technology provider


  • Client Relationship Management: Oversee commercial aspects of our client relationships, including program pipeline, product forecast, product pricing, schedules and escalations;
  • Business Development: uncovering and fostering relationships with gatekeepers in Fortune 50 companies;
  • Proposal Delivery: Coach a team through the proposal delivery process to clients, resulting in a consistently high win-rate track record
  • Revenue Growth Strategies: Responsible for developing account management plans for server OEMs and Desktop AIO OEMs that result in double digit YoY revenue growth;
  • Client Advocacy: Be the voice and a strong advocate for our clients within the company; continuously strive for and maintain high levels of client satisfaction;
  • Team Leadership: Manages a diverse team:
    • Key Account Managers responsible for building our program pipeline and sustaining a product portfolio with various global IT brands;
    • Technical Sales Engineers responsible for supporting Key Account Managers during the pre-sales and proposal process to ensure quick response times and high quality information for clients;
    • Channel Managers responsible for selling CoolIT product through System Integrators and global IT partners into data centers by RFQ and RFP;
  • Sales Process: Establish strategic and administrative aspects of sales process in close collaboration with peers and management and ensure your team adheres to the selling process;
  • Marketing Collaboration: Work closely with the Marketing team to generate industry leading sales collateral and proposals;
  • Product Knowledge: Continuously engage with and learn from the Product and Engineering teams to develop a deep understanding of our hardware and services;
  • Contract Management: Engage regularly in the review and negotiation of various client-related contracts;
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures; and
  • Travel: International travel (25% or greater).

Who You Are

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years experience in account management roles, focused on large enterprise IT companies
  • 5+ years experience managing teams of 10 or more as well as cross functional contributors
  • A passion for staying updated on new technologies and incorporating innovative approaches
  • A commitment to ethical business practices and maintaining a high standard of professionalism
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Commerce, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of data center and IT markets; awareness of data center cooling strategies considered a strong asset
