As part of our manufacturing team, the Electro-Mechanical Assembler forms the latter stages of our production process by bringing our PCB hardware, computer-on-module, memory, and other componentry together into an embedded system or enclosed product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly or modification tasks on electronic components, including assemblies, dis-assemblies, modifications, reworks and repairs.
  • Integration of embedded systems including carrier boards, computer-on-module, memory, etc.
  • Perform testing sequences on assembled products using detailed work instructions
  • Follow written work instructions and Engineering Change notices to complete required tasks
  • Achieve and adhere to a high level of quality of work produced

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Certificate in electro-mechanical disciplines or computer systems is preferred
  • Engineering Technician/Technologist college diploma and 2-4 years related experience an asset
  • Experience within an electronics manufacturing setting
  • Training and experience in ESD procedures
  • Perform testing sequences on assembled products using detailed work instructions
  • Experience with system assembly (Embedded, PC, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of embedded hardware systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, block diagrams, schematics, and blueprint drawings
  • Good manual dexterity demonstrating fine motor skills for working with small components (hand-eye coordination)
  • Ability to use hand tools (common, pin crimpers, wire strippers, torque drivers, etc.)
  • Ability to install mounts, brackets, cables, connectors, electronic equipment, thermal solutions, and labels
  • Must be able to follow direction and have good interpersonal communication skills
  • Soldering, diagnosis, testing, and inspection of printed circuit boards is an asset
  • Training in IPC 600/610 workmanship standards
  • Strong English language comprehension is a must
