The primary task of this role is to perform electronic assembly inspection, defect identification, and assist with the efficient and effective operation of SMT assembly within the Manufacturing department.

Key Responsibilities:
- Machine operation, setup, minor maintenance, and communication of findings
- Update programs for AOI equipment based on provided CAD data
- Operate AOI equipment to inspect electronic assemblies
- Review inspection results and verify defects such as missing components, solder defects, misalignment, or polarity issues
- Utilize IPC-A-610 standard to implement pass/fail criteria for electronic assemblies
- Provide reports of inspection findings to Team Lead
- Provide real-time feedback to SMT Team regarding PCB defects
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled
- Responsible for maintaining production output with minimal downtime and minimal supervision
- Maintain general machine cleanliness and upkeep
- Achieve and adhere to a high level of quality of work produced
- Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and safety procedures
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- 1 – 3 years’ experience in an electronic/electro-mechanical manufacturing environment
- Diploma in an electronics field preferred
- Experience in an PCB inspection role
- Experience with automated inspection equipment
- IPC-A-610 training or certification an asset
- Experience with Mirtec AOI a definite asset
- Skills in analyzing, judgement and decision making
- Knowledge of current manufacturing processes/technologies; standards and specifications
