As part of our manufacturing team, the SMT Operator works closely with other members of our team to manufacture printed circuit boards using various SMT machines, while performing inspection and quality testing procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setup and changeover of SMT equipment, utilizing written work instructions and assembly BOMs.
  • Daily operation of SMT equipment including stencil printer, solder paste inspection, pick and place, and reflow.
  • Responsible for maintaining production output with minimal downtime and minimal supervision
  • Maintain general machine cleanliness and upkeep
  • Achieve and adhere to a high level of quality of work produced
  • Work independently within a fast-paced environment

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Successful completion of high school diploma or vocational equivalent
  • SMT operation experience an asset
  • IPC-A-610 certification or training an asset
  • Strong English language comprehension is a must
  • Good manual dexterity demonstrating fine motor skills for working with small components (hand-eye coordination)
  • Strong verbal & written communications skills, proficient with English language
  • Must be able to follow direction and have good interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to work independently, stand for long periods of time
  • Knowledge of electronic components and electronic assembly is an asset
  • Knowledge of set-ups, programming and adjustments an asset
  • Soldering experience an asset
